does anybody know if the exhaust system with the high flow cat at draxas.com street legal? just needed to know (thumb)

I think only CA has the nazi law of hi flow cats being illegal. I got the vibrant which came with a hi flow, and all the muffler shops said it was 49 state legal, but not in CA. God damn green peace bastards.

haha....here in mi we dont have any kinda emissions tests or inspections. Its nice except when u get behind a 1970 ford pickup whats spittin smoke and everything else and u get high off the damn fumes.lol

in dear ol' Alabama there is no laws what so ever on your car...oh wait there is one for playing your stereo too loud...but i have yet to see it been used on anyone

In B.C. Canada they make u do an emissions test every year and if you dont pass you cant insure your car! That is gay....

What I dont get is that if you car is over a certain age, you dont have any restrictions, so you have these old fossil cars running around shooting chunks of carbon at your like fireballs, but on the new cars that would run catless 10x cleaner than the old POS, your not allowed? Seems like an idiots law to me. Oh well, I have my illegal hi flow cat on my car, and Im proud to say when a header with no problems comes out I will be throwing that one, leaving just the hiflow cat. BTW my car turned 1000 today. (tear)

so it should be street legal except for cali? so this means ill pass the emissions test?

It is illegal at the federal level to replace a functioning cat before the car has 50,000 miles on it. Of course, that didn't stop me. I have their exhaust with the high flow cat, and have for almost a year (since the car was only about 6 months old with, perhaps, 20,000 miles).

I know in CT with the "early american" (I think 25 years or older) plates you are restricted to how many miles you can put on the car per year.. I think it's a ridiculously low number so that you can't use the car as your daily driver.

I have no clue what is going on with the CT emissions testing, but IIRC the car has to be a certain number of years old before it is due anyway. No car in my driveway has had an emissions test done. I need to replace my damn midpipe so that I can get my second O2 sensor back in and get rid of my CEL.

so have you had any emissions tests done to your car yet?

Nope, and here in Michigan, I don't have to (and hopefully never will). Although, there's no reason to think that it wouldn't pass at ULEV levels. The cold air intake probably increases emissions a bit over OEM levels, but shouldn't be by much.

Of course, you can always take the OEM one off, and say that it was damaged! If you ever had to prove it, just bash it once or twice with a baseball bat or damage the catalyst inside by poking it a few times.

JUST DO IT ALREADY!!!! Ive been thinking about hollowing out the stock cat and putting that on, looks oem and the only way to tell its not is to cut it off and take a peek inside...
