Strange smell coming from my MSP!

yeah i have the same prob i think! i smell some kinda burning also. usually only small it once i stop at a light or stop sign for over 10 secs or so. some kinda burning kinda like oil. i do think that my car has been louder recently though so it possibly could be the cat. i was going to take it to the delier and have them look at it. also my rear defrost dosent work for some reason and get them to look at the bushings cuz they are way overly squeeky. hopefully all under waranty

Sounds like you may have an exhaust leak.

thats what i think it might be. It doesnt really smell like exhaust though. more like burning oil or rubber type smell.

ok so i went to the delier and they gave me a confused look and tried to tell me that i might of ran over something like a plastic bag and it has been burning for the last 4k miles or so! lol well they have never heard of it bla bla bla... i said that it is a preblem a few of us have had and it seems to be the same symptoms across the board. they were not sure but i am getting it looked at on the 16th. I think i am getting rid of the idea of an exhaust cuz it smells nothing like exhaust and it dosent happen constantly or consistently. it happens now and then but i am confused. i dont think that it has anything to do with the ammount of miles i have been driving, the temperature etc... just stopped at a light or stopsign for a few seconds then it smells (sometimes) and when i drive away it goes away.

did you tighten the silicone couplers down tight and there are no leaks?

yeah mines like that too somedays it does somedays it dosent even some light it does and others it does not WTF??
