Has anyone thought about making their exhuast bend like this......

Similar to this, but bend under the sway bar to give that straight exhaust look. I've looked under my MP3 and with the swaybar sitting where it's at, I'm not sure if I can. The piping might sit a little to low for some people, but for those of us who don't have their car that low, it might be a possibility. What do you guys think?

but what would it gain you? I would think if your system is all mandrel bent that the flow would not gain anything by being straight vs going over.....

Ground clearance, even on a stock MP3, I think would be pretty much shot to heck...

Not to mention you would have clanging issues, I would think. Stock exhaust is tucked up there nice and neat, no banging and no clearance issues.

Remember, the MP3 as a different "rear end" in place for ground clearance issue with the bigger bar.

And, the advantages of straight for that section v going over the axle I think would be minimal.

However, you never know for sure without trying it out and testing on a dyno...

This is something I was thinking about doing stictly for looks alone. I know that there is absolutely no power gain to be had, but I always look for different things. I knew the clearance wouldn't be all that great. Just thought it would definately turn some heads and that is always a plus;)

isn't it bad to have your muffler aimed upwards? the water and stuff settles at the joint.. if that tube isn't stainless steel it will rust easier

Apexi its been done. I have seen it on an MP3 around here. Never spoke to the guy but it looks saweet! Kinda like the HKS WRX setup

I heard he is using an n1 apexi and the car is slammed.

So I dont think clearance is an issue. And for clanking a good exhaust shop (must be s*** loads in cali) should fix that:)
