Stockers

What is the widest size tire we can put on the stock ms3 rim? (uhm)Oh and what is the actural size and weight of our stock ms3 rim also.

Thanks

I think its like 235ish, I think you could get bigger on there but it would look super silly.

On a 7" wide wheel, I wouldn't run any wider than a 225 section width tire. 215 is about perfect though TBH and you won't get much of an improvement in grip with 225s squished onto a 7" wide wheel. If anything, you'll start to lose steering feel going too wide.

Thanks for everyones help on this tire size thing.

Here is another stupid question. Instead of a 45 which I think is tire hight "side wall" could I go 55 whick would give me a smother ride or am I completely wrong? And if I'm right about the hight thing would they even fit in the tire well?

I'm 50 years old and drive it everyday all day in my job "sales" so looking for smooth rather then harsh.

You will rub and throw your speedo way off. If you want comfort, get a set of 16" that will clear the calipers and some soft all-seasons.

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revolutions Speedometer Odometer Difference
215/45-18 3.8" 12.8" 25.6" 80.5" 787/mi 60MPH 10000mi N/A
225/40-18 3.5" 12.5" 25.1" 78.8" 804/mi 61MPH 10212mi -2.1%
225/45-18 4.0" 13.0" 26.0" 81.6" 777/mi 59MPH 9864mi 1.4%
235/40-18 3.7" 12.7" 25.4" 79.8" 794/mi 61MPH 10085mi -0.8%
225/50-17 4.4" 12.9" 25.9" 81.2" 780/mi 59MPH 9907mi 0.9%
225/55-16 4.9" 12.9" 25.7" 80.9" 783/mi 60MPH 9951mi 0.5%

55 is too tall unless you go down to 16s. For more comfort you want a taller sidewall, so I say find some 225/45s or swap out to smaller wheels. You may or may not rub. Some people do, and some don't.
