I have a broken 6 cd in dash, and just purchased a used single disc HU.

Is the 6 cd changer something that will swap out, similar to the mini disc and the casette options?

If mean swapping the cage and mechanics of the CD player then 9t may be swapable, but no where near as easily as the tape deck would be to remove.

Now if you mean can you totaly remove one radio from the dash and just put in the other, then yes, its a simple swap.

Actually it isn't THAT difficult to do. I just pulled my 6 disc apart to get my CD's out of it. The changer is a modular unit that mounts on top of the chassis. If you have both setups just do a swap.

Hey I am interested in the broken 6 disc changer and especially the cage for the changer. Let me know what model and year the broken changer came out of and give me a price. If you are having trouble with the CD's I can get those out for your too. Let me know. Thanks.

6-disc and regular CD player are both prettmuch the same thing other than the capacity for discs of course. In the regular player, there's a plastic piece that goes over the load button if I remember right.

Hi. Sorry I already sent you a different E-mail, but I guess I didn't read your reply closely enough. I see now that you purchased a used Single Disc unit. It should be a relatively painless swap but one important thing is not to bother about taking off the top casing, but rather just loosen the purple screws on the side and that should free the WHOLE top CD Case which hold the actual CD changer inside. Once this is out just drop in the single disc changer casing and all and it should simply "plug in" to the main unit. Put the purple screws back in and your done. Now that is when I would love to get the broken cage unit from you. Let me know what you think.
