Stock plastic intercooler shield/cover question

Is there any negative impact if the right side of that cover is removed? Is the seal between the intercooler/hood compromised? I'm talking about the flat extension that covers up the BPV and some wires/hoses.

I'm wondering because I'd like to cut it off. It's hitting against some lines and the BPV and pushing it upwards. Looks kinda...off. I'd rather have it not be there.

Yea I was thinking of cutting it off, it kinda pinches my BPV tube

I would say that part is not needed, just make sure you do not cut off anywhere it seals. I think its just a part to hide the stuff underneath.

Obvious way to find out, run a damp towel down the rubber seal on the hood, close hood, open hood and see contact point.

I have a large chunk of that extension cut off and no issues.
