hey.. i cant find n e thing on this but.. my cd player just started acting up!! it stays folded down like its ejecting a cd! and when i reset it goes up but the display wont light up at all.. but everything else lights up for like a second and its like it turns back off.. and then will fold back down and stay in that position!! what do i do???

This should be in a faq here. perhaps in the audio forum. I know I read about it when I bought my msp months ago.

yeas there are tons of threads on it. Basically if the reset button doesn't fix it you are better off just buying a new stereo. It is a falure in the ribbon attaching the processor to the face it streatches and fails over time. kenwood sold the whole lot of them to Mazda for a cheap price and not they continually die. I had replaced at least 8 over the years. I have an Alpine .

Or you can ship it to me and i will install it and take it in to have it warrentied..

haha

NO TAMMY YOU CAN'T DO THAT!

I think the stock head unit is meant to throw out the window. Mine lasted 1 year and It eat my favorite cd. Don't waste your time and get a better one.

try taking the faceplate itself off then putting it back on, mine did the same thing and it worked after i tryed it.

yea, mine just recently did the same exact thing- it sucked cause mazda couldnt get another one (im under warranty still) for like a week then when i went to go have it put in they took an HOUR!!! just to slide the damn thing in- i install car audio and they said THEY had to do it for me- it would have taken me ten minutes. but yeah, i second that others said- if your under warranty will get it replaced but if not, dont even waste your effort trying to get the same one and upgrade.

yeah, the stock Kenwood deck has many amazing features and it is a nice deck, although it is quite frail. The ribbon cable went 3 times in mine, and it had to be reset often. I recently replaced it with a 7" Pioneer flat screen which I must say does the trick, lol.
