Guys,

Here it has been 90 and up for a while and I was wondering how is everyone stock IC MSP doing?

Am I the only one that feels like driving a festiva?(ughdance)

I even told mazda about this AWESOME SMIC.

Sucks here in South Mississippi as well. The humidity is what gets it really bad. Not to mention that it's been 90+ without the humidity.

o ya it was like 90 with high humidity here in ct and i was driving back from lime rock race track an hour away from my house and heat soak was AWEFUL

Try making a pass at the drag strip with the kind of weather we've had here. The CAI is useless. It more like a HAI right now. Haha.

this is my first turbo car but you guys think the car suffer so much because of poor design or all turbo cars are like this?
I just cannot believe that someone would spend 34000 on a STI or MR and have the car drive like a$# during the summer.
That will drive me nuts....Or maybe I am just too demanding(enguard)

EVO and STI and SRT4 are front mount intercooler they cool much better from the factory then our bad small SMIC

I think its the programming of the PCM more than anything. The EVO and STI are tuned right to begin with. I just helped a freind drive a twin turbo Supra from Michingan to Florida. It has a SMIC stock. Its the thickest SMIC that I have ever seen and never "heatsoaked" once. I also have a turbo Probe with an SMIC and it never suffers heatsoak no matter how hot it gets in Florida.

I agree that it has something to do with the PCM but also with the fact that our SMIC is more of a restriction in the system than it is useful. I know it's useful but not as much as there is potential for. I still have the stock IC but I WILL be upgrading and Ithink it's gonna be a good bit of difference. Especially with the hard pipes along with a larger SMIC or custom FMIC.

I did not know that they had stock SMIC.

Threads like this make me glad I just upgraded to the fmic and hardpipes, before installing the stock s***. No heatsoak for me! I just have to pray my engine doesn't hate me...

I recognize that CAR.
Your car changes so much since you got it.
Ken I will buy a FMIC or new SMIC in one minute if it wasn't for warranty. Thanks for the inputs guys.

it can get into the 90s and low 100s here.... when i had my stock IC it would get heat soaked within 5 mins of driving!!! basically felt like a NA protege. After I got my Turbohoses IC and hardpipes, it was much better. It doesn't ever have that heatsoaked feeling.

? If you need to bring your car in for warranty work, just put the stock smic back on. It's not that difficult..
