So it started off with a check engine light, went to my garage they checked everything, cleared the light (everything was back to normal) I started the car and heard a weird noise, drove half a block and the light came back on ?//?#$%^&?????

so made a full 180 and brought the car back to the garage, they re-tested, put it through their scanner.... light cleared, got on the high way, LIGHT BACK ON!!!

so being the paranoid freak that i am, im removing my mods back to stock, so that i can bring the car to mazda and not have them blame the problem on a mod that we all know would have no relation with the initial problem, and have them void my warranty.

so im taking off, my CAI, BOV, test pipe, Sprint booster, Motor mount...

:(

the Crappy part of all this is i know they're just gonna fix a minor thing and hand the car back to me, and im gonna have to put the car back together again lol

I'm just venting>.......

I was thinking the same thing. They might notice vibs when they drive it . . .

what codes were you throwing ?

I would recommend removing the motor mount, it will idle rough, and although we're all used to it that have it, anyone that doesn't can tell right away somethings off.

thats what i was thinking...

honestly i really just want to cover my ass, my guy at my garage says the noise coming from the engine is not good, "its seen better days" as he says. which ultimately adds to my paranoia. i don't want to give mazda any reason to refuse me my warranty...

I just picked up the car from my garage and it feels sooooo weird, like a completely different car, feels like im driving in water lol slow-mo... i know the car comes fast stock, but as soon as u mod it and remove the mods its a diff car...

n e ways im just nervous Mazda is going to cause my some problems...

I would have pulled the codes before you went into the dealer so you know what you might be dealing with. As far as pulling the motor mount and such, they won't say anything unless you had some serious drivability problems.

You really didn't explain in detail what you were experiencing either, so it's hard to guide you to a solution.

Im running stock right now and really enjoy it. Everything seems so smooth and quiet. In fact if Mazda doesnt give me any crap, and they replace my turbo, Im probably selling my AP and SRI.

to be honest i dont know much about codes... its hard to explain what the problem it, when i start the car it makes a weird noise as if the engine is working over time, sounds kind-of like air blowing out loud...

my mechanic say's the oil is like "watered down" as he says, I just had an oil change 3 weeks ago.

I dont know much about how the engine works or what he means by it, but he told me it doesn't look good.

in terms of the driving experience besides the odd noise here and there, the drive seems the same. I feel like I've lost a bit of power, but that can also be in my head.... there is no question that the car is slower with out the mods but, wether or not i lost actual HP due to this problem i dont know.

Mazda said as long as the engine light doesn't flash, or blink it shouldn't be soo bad...

just so i know for future reference what codes did you mean, and where would i get them?

thanks~

I think your "garage" or mechanic can get you the codes since he was able to clear them for you. He was probably using a OBD2 scanner. The scanner will give you the codes of the malfunctioning parts. From there you can search the forums for the codes and see if anyone else has had the same issues and what the fix was. Hope this helped

thanks guys, honestly my appointment with mazda is at 12:00, so for now im just gonna cross my fingers, but its very useful knowledge to have now for the future.

thanks again, I'll keep you guys posted on the results...

update:

my car is still at Mazda, they said they printed out the scan sheet and still dont know what the problem is. they told me they'd perform some more tests and use other codes....

hope im covered! :S

Good luck snooky !!!

Just a quick general question. Gauges don't void warranty right?? I was dumb and I t'd off my stock recirc hose instead of buying another one. I can take the gauge off but the T will still be there and its very noticable.

Well something can only void a warranty if it causes the problem you are experiencing. In Snooky's case I just recommended removing everything because he's not sure what the issue is and some shops are glad to find any reason to not honor the warranty and charge you for the work. They would say "your motor mount is whats causing your shifts to be too hard and thats why fill in the blank broke." More than likely they won't give you much s*** about the gauges.
