stock clutch + turbo?

it can handle it, for how long and how hard you beat on it? that is the question
ya its probably a good idea to change that soon after a turbo install, u should to the lightweight flywheel too while yer at it

ill tell you my honest opinion that i share with someone on this forum who i wont say...

i dont want this to turn into a flame, but, the way i see it most of the people tearing up their clutches are either kids or acting like kids...i know someone that is boosting 9psi for 12k miles on a T3 setup with NO clutch slippage at all...that means, dont burn out, or race all the time...if you are going to drive like an idiot, upgrade your clutch...if you can drive like a responsible adult and have a little responsible fun every once in awhile, then you shouldnt need a clutch, i would guess.

ill let you know once i install my FMU and start boosting 7-8psi daily.

Yeah, Little Beavis had his stock clutch for many months on his MP3 with 5-7psi. When he took me for the ride that showed me the way to the dark side, it seemed to hold up real well unless he completely beat on it. But he could definitely make good use of the turbo with the stock clutch.

exactly...this is the way i figure it...within a week ill be boosting 7-8psi...i know which cars i can and cant walk all over...a win is a win is a win...dump at like 2-2500 rpm which wont be that fast, but wont burn the piss outta your tires, and smoke the person in second gear....save the close races for the track, where it wont be too bad on your clutch once a month to tear it up...and save yourself the money.

Eventually you will need a new clutch, a turbo will speed up the process. It may not be a month or even a year, but when you do I recomend upgrading your flywheel as well.

Why the heck would anyone be doing burnouts in a car that doesn't even have a limited slip?

My stock clutch lasted over 6 months, and I don't drive like a punk. I could of drove on it longer, but at 4000-4500 RPM it would slip ONLY if I was in full boost. So yeah it'll hold up for a while as long as you take it easy.

Yeah the stock clutch can handle it as long as you don't beat on it. Your just not going to get the full potential out of the turbo until you change it though. I could be wrong but it felt like it handles better now that the act/indigo is in there.
