Stock CD Player

Does the stock CD Player have a history of failing ?? I have read in some threads where Protege Owners have gone through a couple of units.

The stock Mazda unit has been fine to my knowledge. Only some very rare complaints. Its the Ones they put in the MSP and MP3 that were terrible.

Does anyone have a decent pic or a close up pic of the stock head unit for the P5?

i had the stock 6-disc with tape and it the lcd backlight "broke". think that it broke when i was trying to remove it when i was going to install and aftermarket unit. so i just put it back and and got it warranteed. now its just in a box just kinda chillin when i picked it up from the dealer. so i would suppose that it lights up red again. as far as the stock units breaking i dont' really think they will unless coaxed........
