sticker dude sucks

so i did not make it out for the 2005 season of mid west council races, and some one took my number. no biggie just went to the next coolest number "777", and realized i had to go and get new numbers then. the last guy that i went to was in dekalb and he said it was so small he wouldent charge me so i got a few numbers, some class identifing letters, and a few tow hook labels. then gave him a 12 pack of miller light anyway. now i dont live in dekalb anymore but there is a sticker dude here where i live now, and i like to suport local biss. this stupid f&^%k wanted 75 dollers for three "777"s. just plain white sevens. so besides ranting about how full of themselfs they are is there anything besides droor liner that i can use to make my own numbers?? P.S. 75 ******* dollers, jerks

go to AC Moore, Michael's or some other arts/crafts store. buy a sheet of white magnetic material (approx 12" x 24"). trace on and cut out any numbers you'd like. cost: $12 for 2 sheets. i kept the sheets whole and made my own numbers out of black adhesive vinyl.

edit: or, try http://www.solotime.com/

not sure if you are looking for decal markers but I am one =p I've done some work for a couple of the members here and also at MOCCforums.com if you are looking for reference. I am much cheaper and result is consistant

If I were you I'd pay for quality. You can't assume that because you got a freebie once, that you'll always get a freebie. $75 dollars is that big of a deal to you? Maybe you shouldn't be racing. The best way to make a small fortune in racing is to start with a large one.

I personally will not use anyone anymore since I met Sean at www.izoomgraphics.com

I believe you pay for the quality, but 75 bucks for a couple letters, what "quality" are you paying for? I've done decals for a couple years now, and cutting 3 letters aren't that hard. Decals are charged with cost and labor, and the letters are just laborly or costly enough to justisify 75 bucks I am sorry.

The font I used was called Fast Ninja...
And you ninja'd my post :p

and now for my actual contribution:
Seriously...makin you're own ain't that hard, and is way more satisfying

I've used magnetic sheet that I used plastic-spray paint on, works well. I'll be buying vinyl for track days from now on though, instead of tape :)

I still laugh at this. This is why racing equipment is way over priced. Ass hats with this thinking, and way too much money. I went out and bought drawer paper for under $5, and have made dozens and dozens of numbers and class IDs. I have bought soooooooooo much stuff on the cheap it makes me face palm every time I think of this chick. I just had to revive this thread. Keep it cheap people, find contingencys and be smart with your money!

I'm 99.99999% sure Vega isn't a chick, just had has girlfriend in the pic or something.

But holy s*** this is an old thread!
