Step Bumper Guards? Anyone DIY??

Has anyone installed the Step Bumper Guards??? Has anyone done it themselves?? I called the stealership today and they say they just attach with double sided tape? Is that strong enough to stay put even if you stand on them? I want to have them put on but im cautions if they will stand up ok over time, heat, use etc.

step bumper guards? the ones for the rear bumper? yikes I wouldn't try standing on it, it's just a plastic cover after all. look up underneath the bumper to see if there's a lot of reinforcement under there.

I always just thought those covers were to prevent scratches from loading things in and out of the trunk.

Yea those are not for stepping on. Basically its a cover to protect the bumper from nicks as you are loading/unloading anything in/out of it....

Haha, I was having a picutre in my head of something like what cops have on the front of their car..... and I was gonna say....tape? They do make a plastic cover for the rear bumper...

Hmmm ok, there called step guards. so i was wondering what the deal was. i need need them for protection of the rear bumper while loading but i was hoping i could stand on them as well to load stuff onto the roof rack.
