Steering issue

Ok here is the deal....im hearing a clunk noise coming from the steering rack i have checked everything(tie rods) and it turns nice but when i hit a bump or something i hear a noise....last thing i did i jacked the car and put my hand where the steering column meets the steering rack and i felt that the noise came from the rack itself, there is no leak just the noise what can i do????

i have heard some strange noises transfer down an axel and n=make noise I thought was something it wasnt.. I would check to see if the strut plates are making noise because there is a bearing in them and they make a popping noise when they are starting to go bad.. you can check for dry-rot or rust would be a good sign.. hope this helps.

I hear the same noise.
Happens alot when im letting out the clutch in first and hitting a small bump.

i recently changed the front struts and the bearings are good, spring seats were also good, and i am sure it has something to do with the steering rack, is there some king of overhaul or what

I have the same exact issue...been trying to hunt it down for a couple years....i think its play in the steering rack.
