Steering Column Position Lock Problems

Has anyone had any problems with their steering column locks? I've got an 06 3i that will lock the up/down movement but won't lock the telescoping function.

Just wanted to check for any ideas before I go tearing anything apart. Thanks!

hmm.. never had a problem with it.. works perfect every time i wat to adjust it... hmmm
