How is it mounted? It must be mounted with the electrical terminals on the bottom or water will collect inside an corrode the diaphragms. What is the symptom?

Check the fuse. Mine did the same thing. Simple matter of replacing the fuse. It is one of the small ones, 15 I think. Tiny little bastard.

Checked the wiring and fuses...again....all is fine. Even checked the current to the horn when activated and there is current. This POS is dead. What really sucks is that although there is a warranty from Stebel, they will not replace it, instead telling me to go to the seller for replacement. The seller will not replace it because they do not replace horns. For those that care, I bought it at www.twistedthrottle.com so if you do buy one, don't buy it from them.

Today, Stebel is now sending me to Twisted Throttle's supplier name "Joe" with an aol email address and no company name. From what Stebel is saying in their email to me, this is simply to let Joe know that Twisted Throttle does not accept warranty returns on horns. I know a lot of people have had success with this horn but mine has died and a quick Google search shows that I am not alone here. Since Stebel does not back up their own warranty directly, it is essentially worthless.

This is the lame reply I get from Stebel when I tell them the seller will not exchange it:

> Is there any specific reason that the distributor gave for the warranty
> not
> being honored? As you can understand the Stebel company cannot accept
> units
> directly from the consumer, there is a system in place to make sure that

Why not? Every other company accepts, some insist, they do the warranty work directly. Hell, even Microsoft, which so many people hate, will replace that mouse, keyboard or joystick after speaking on the phone and won't even put you to the trouble of returning the defective item.

One more email from them just now, which clearly shows they dont give two ***** about the consumer, who gets not warranty from Stebel at all.

"The warranty is for whoever buys the horn from us, and by that we mean the
wholesaler
, who in turn is supposed to offer the warranty to the retailer, who
in turn offers it to the consumer (at least that's how it should work in the
normal world). We have always honored our warranty. In many cases we offer an
extra discount to wholesalers
who take care directly of warranties. How would
Stebel know that you actually bought the horn or that the horn you bought is
made by Stebel? It doesn't work like that.

you should tell your story to the guys @ www.comsumerist.com they handle s*** like this pretty well ;)

Well, it has been a week since I spoke to their supplier, Joe and still no sign of the horn being replaced. I sent him the email he requested and he never responed. I have since sent two follow up emails and another today stating that if I do not received it this week, I will simply charge back the retailer and buy a different horn.

*Update*
This is a weird one on me. Even though there was current going to the horn, it was not enough to make the horn work. Replaced the relay and it's as loud as ever. Hope this helps anyone else that this may happen to. Not sure what the odds of a relay going dead are so soon.
