Steamed Up Windows

Why do the windows seem to steam up so easily when it's raining out?

I had a Jeep Liberty prior to this car & it didn't have really have this issue.
What makes the Mazda different?

I was thinking maybe the jeep had some dry air coming in at all times via the air cond unit. I think I remember reading that somewhere, but I'm not positive.

Some cars...my Honda Civic for example...always activate the air conditioning when you turn the air flow selector to defog/windshield. The 2...much to my preference...does not....allowing me to decide when conditions require the addition of the air conditioner....so you should be able to resolve your issue by activating the AC when you are experiencing fogging/humidity build up on the windows...like is so common here in Indiana on cold, rainy days.

Something that I've started doing lately is flipping the vent to "recirculate" when I get out of the car on rainy days. One of the first few weeks that I had the car I came out after a rainy night to find the inside of the windows COVERED in condensation. It's definitely a design thing. Something is strange about the way the car handles moisture.

I'll have to give the "recirculate" thing a try. I've already been using the air cond because I read about that in the manual. I gotta say though that the air conditioner doesn't get along with the engine all that well. My car felt so strange yesterday when I was going along with the air on. It felt like intermittant engine braking.
