Start Up is Strange

2008 Mazda3 Sedan
I've got a problem with my 3. 08 GT Sedan.
I just went to go get the mail (communal mailbox), and when I fired up the engine, the revs only went up to ~2kRPM when it should've gone up to ~3k. I revved it up past 3k and the revs dropped really quickly back down to ~2k. I thought, oh, it just needs to warm up. Went to the mailbox and heard something that resembles a bad belt, but not as extremely loud as one that really has a bad belt.
I thought, okay. Let me go see what happens when I drive out of the neighborhood. Pulled out onto the road and thrashed on it a bit.
It's the 4speed ATX and I use the sport shifter pretty frequently, so when I shifted from 1st to 2nd, it made a weird clunk sound (couldn't tell where it came from). But afterwards, it was fine.
Came back home, turned it off, and started it up again...
******* ~1kRPM. What's wrong?
Yesterday, I took 1.5 hours to install a goddamn CF cooling plate, but I didn't touch anything other than the latch for the hood and the grille.

Edit: Whoops. Not 3k RPM. Around 2kRPM. It just sounded very weak.

I've never owned a fuel-injected car that revved all the way to 3K at cold start. +/- 2K is normal. A warm re-start will only usually run at a little over 1K and settle down around 800. Your car is acting normally.

Nevermind. Thanks a lot guys. I guess it was just because my car was sitting all day Tuesday.
It seems to be working fine now.

Yeah. Mine sits at ~1k at idle. Lol.
It just didn't sound right yesterday, but as I drove it more, it became more normal.
It's just that this never happened from not using my car for a day.
