looking to spend 400$ on SSAFC or Meth. Inj. system. any experienced recommendations?

Though I can't give an opinion on Methanol injection...

with the SSAFC, do you need supporting mods such as CAI, high flow exhaust system of some sort, FMIC, etc.? i know it will help a bunch if i do, but can only afford the ssafc.....for now....

Nope. I had planned on leaving my MSP stock when I first purchased it, but had every intention of getting an SSAFC. In fact, I wouldn't waste the money on methanol injection if you don't have any other modifications done to the car. Get the SSAFC, you won't be disappointed.

haha ill take your advice. you look like you have puffed your MSP up, besides the ssafc, im considering the hardened motor mounts, injen intake, and delete my cats. how much of a headache is this going to be? i really cant take much more of the motor rocking around with the garbage rubber mou

Just get front and rear mounts. Don't get the inserts, get the actual mounts. The front mount can be done in about 15 minutes even on the ground. The rear mount is a pain in the ass. Even on a lift, with every tool imaginable at my shop it took me an hour and a half.

No point in owning an MSP without at least an AFC to tune it. Meth injection isn't for stock cars it's for people trying to get more out of their built cars.

thanks for all the help guys and i had a feeling about the meth on a built car, just figured id ask at bout the same $$ looks like its SSAFC with some good mounts (despite the rear mount headache x|)

Keep an eye out for a used one in the marketplace. I got mine for $200 (version 1- which is fine with me). You've got to keep your eye on the marketplace and have the money ready when they come up for sale, otherwise you'll never get one.

Yeah meth is essentially for anti-detonation at high boost, you won't get any benefit out of it stock. SSAFC will get you pretty far, a lot of guys here run it on built disco potato cars, and it can handle up to ~15 psi iirc. It's a good investment as long as you feel comfortable wiring it in. An AFR gauge would be a good investment as well-MAKE SURE it's a true wideband sensor, though; narrowband just tells you if you're over/under 14.7:1, it won't give you a direct reading and it's useless for tuning.

^^^^ Not true about there not being a benefit to methanol in stock form, but I'm not going to argue about that because I think the OP should get the SSAFC first as well.

I should be getting meth here soon. Gonna just up the boost to 10 psi with it. And tune for it with the ssafc. Gonna wait till I get the pope mani in so I will have all the supporting mods. We will see how it works out. Only 1900 on the car then big dollars coming.

i need a good solid 2 g's to get where i want, but i think the ssafc is a good starting point. where would i get the ssafc maps?

so with another question, whats the difference between the ssf/tc and the ssafc? all i can figure out so far is wideband and bout 280$
