SS AFC v3 and vista

i heard there are people thats cant get it to work right and some can...i heard its something with the cable anyone that has had it work can you help me find a cable

I'm sub'd as I'm very interested in a SS and my laptop has Vista.

well emailed them and got this back

You will need a USB to serial adapter cable. Make sure that you get
one
with a disc and that you install the driver correctly. Many people
have
successfully used the R4 software on Vista.

I use a SIIG brand adapter, it was included when I bought my V1 used.

It has worked with my XP and Vista laptops. Its only $30, so don't get mad at me if the cable doesn't work for you

Just run the program in Windows 95/98 compatibility mode. That should get it to work. Right click on the desktop icon and then go to properties or preferences. Then you will see the run compatibility mode area. Hope this helps.

wow you mean that actually works for soemone!!! Every time I try that the progs never work even as the admin.

I suppose it probably only worked for me. I still am getting used to Vista, but I will say this has worked for me.

i hate the uac s*** on vista i disabled mine. no more pop up asking me do you really want to install this program ftw o and i dont have to run the programs as admin anymore because of the uac is off they work just fine
