sry bout this, SRT-4 engine vs. MSP engine

Ahh, here come the magazine racers.

Basically, my thoughts are this. If I wanted a balls out drag racer that can handle relatively well with some mods and push rediculous amounts of horsepower for little money, I'd buy...

... A MUSTANG. There's no way I'd fork over $20k + $8-10k in mods for a Neon when I could pick up a used Mustang for $6-7k, rebuild the engine for another $3-4k, do a full race suspension for another $6-7k, and completely rebuilt transmission for $3-5k and walk out with an absolute MONSTER for about $10,000 less than the Neon (and a HELL of a lot more attractive).

The MSP is a great mix of handling, power, style, amenities, Japanese quality and reliability, originality, and pride of ownership (the Mazda community has been a diehard one for a long time... I can see the Mopar guys getting tired of all the cocky street-racing types that are picking up SRTs and talking s***).

The part that amuses me most about the SRT is who's driving them. I can't wait to see what insurance rates are going to be when the companies find out what "SRT" stands for, and when all these 16-18 year old kids start wrapping them around telephone polls after doing PVO's upgrade kits.

SRT/4 - Econo car with Ballz and balance
MSP - Econo car with style and and swift cut back ability

Choose your weapon then,

SHUT THE **** UP WITH THESE STUPID ASS AGRUEMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

See keyboards still being pounded away at

Thank you, thank you.

EXACTLY my point, slipstream.

if you REALLY wanted to go all out, why buy a new car? like i said, you can mod the balls out of a mutang or camaro....

i mean, yeah the neon has awesome power, but if youre buying a new car for power alone, thats just really ******* stupid. by doin that, youre sayin, **** comfort, **** looks, screw everything but my HP. well then why even **** with getting a new car, just build something up. then you can say you customized your car...not like all these ******* boy racers and s*** who ******* add some neons and call it performance customizzing :

One of the main problems with the whole comfort debate in any car is, what do you classify as comfort in sense of the general masses.

Some may say our suspension ride is to rough, or the road sound is to harsh etc.

What one deems as comfort another may not.

Just something to remember when trying to argue to other people about what is more comfortable.

Thank you, thank you.

*sees 1st MP3 dancing in the corner*
Ok..Okk 1st MP3 you've had one to many cold ones, time to wheel yourself out of here

Yes you know the Turd of which I speak the Peon Sfart-4.

Dont hate the MSP because it's beautifull...just realize that turds need love to and go polish your SRT-4.
You know, the SRT-4 is like a clumsy fat chic with strong legs.
heheheheheheh(laugh) (laugh)
Hmmm, this speaks volumes of your character.

right, obviously, but thats not what im saying. im not saying the comfort in the SRT4 is any worse or anything...its stupid to argue comfort...or appearence....thats like arguing favorite ice cream flavors or something, and putting someone down cuz thye like mint pistachio or something....anyways, im sayin, if all you care about is mad HP power, then just build a real car up, dont go try to build the ultimate "performance-economy car" (like a 500hp MSP or someing)
i dunno just somethin that doesnt make sense to me..

This a classic BS arguement about the SRT4 too. Are you going to tell me that there are any less youngin's driving other cars.. :bs:
On SRTforums they did a survey of owner age and it was almost 3/4 over 26.

Can you guys just use IM or the telephone to hold this conversation?

I think people are getting lost in the numbers. Numbers don't make a car.

The Protege, whether its the MSP, ES, or P5, is a nice well rounded car. Mazda was not trying to build the fastest sport compact on the market when they designed the MSP, they were trying to design a fast, fun to drive (zoom zoom), sedan with a sports car feel for cheap money (IMO). They were also trying to build off of the critique of the MP3. And (IMO again) they succeeded in all that.

Dodge, on the other hand, is trying to build a fast car. They are all about image. Take a look at the Viper, or even the redesigned Ram. The Neon R/T got a good response so they are building on that with the SRT.

The SRT is as much a Neon as the MSP is a Protege. Debate me on if you want. If I knew the Protege or 323 had a bad track record in the past, I wouldn't buy a MSP that was based off of it. That is the reason I will not buy an SRT.

Because SRTForums.com is 100% representative of the entire market of SRT-4 owners. I'd be willing to bet you there will be more than enough under-experienced kids driving these things into trees/cars/ditches/curbs etc, because they can't handle the power. Thus, the insurance will skyrocket once the ins. companies figure out why.

And that point wasn't an "argument." You ignored the majority of the "argument" portion of the post I made.

There will always be spoiled youngin's driving sports cars that wrap them around trees.

I'm sure there are a handfull of MSP youngin's, if not, just give it some time and they will start to disappear into the salvage yards along with the Mustangs and Camaros.

I'm indifferent to this whole topic but this comment made me LOL for almost 5 minutes! HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, (Heathen catches breath) HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Thing is, the 2nd gen Neon is plenty reliable.

OK sure, I'll admot that it isn't 100% of the market, but the MSP....hell all the econo-rockets are going to suffer this fate. Interesting the the RSX-S suffers from this even though it is more expensive.
