SRT4 Stage 3R !!!

just gotta love mazda and dodge

they are 2 car companies that are really throwing it out there for enthusiasts and you have to respect them both.

as for the warranty, there will be dealers who will fix waranty problems in some cases no matter how boosted your car is, (they usually get reimbursed by Dodge America, or Mazda USA, etc, so they don't care), but if your running a stage 2 and blow up your engine, I wouldn't want to be in your shoes begging for the dealer to help out...

i know the owner/admin of the Quebec SRT Club and he says that most dealer won't fix your car under warranty if its modded, including Mopar Stage upgrades ... but you can be lucky sometimes

I wish Mazda would come up with upgrades like that. I guess they just dont do it because there arent that many MSPs out there, compared to the amount of SRT4s Dodge sold. A few little upgrades that maybe Mazda didnt have time to take care of before they released the car would be nice

Warranty aside, the point is that the SRT-4 and tC are getting huge support from the factory when it comes to mods. Even if you don't want to pay dealer prices for Mopar or TRD parts, the fact of the matter is that when the factory gets in the mod game, that primes other aftermarket companies to get working on their mods because they have a template to work with.

NISMO is kind of doing this but not enough. Aside from cams, they don't offer us Nissan owners much more than basic bolt-ons. And Mazdaspeed isn't doing much better. SVT better get back into the Focus, unless Ford just abandoned the compact tuner market completely.

i just saw some show about sema and they were talking about how mazda will be offering a bunch on mazdaspeed parts, the only problem is that they excluded the protege. It sucks but i can't blame them, why make new parts for a car you don't produce anymore.

NISMO still makes and sells parts for the 300zx and 240sx. As long as there is demand, there will be supply.

"Mopar Performance Parts are sold "as is," without any warranty whatsoever. Implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are excluded. The entire risk as to quality and performance of such parts is with the buyer. Should such parts prove defective following their purchase, the buyer and not the manufacturer, distributor or retailer, assumes the entire cost of all necessary servicing or repair."
this just seems like BS to me. you would think that if the aftermarket parts are developed by mopar and installed by the dealership, that it would be covered. so much for dodge doing it, "the right way." they market and sell all of their parts and upgrade kits like its such a great thing and once they install it on your car they turn their back on you and deny your warranty. way to go dodge, you ******* assholes.

i've heard on 3 separate accounts, one from a service tech at dodge, that if you buy stage 1, 2, and 3 and have the dealer do all the installation, dodge calls you and offers you a stage 4 upgrade which includes a new tranny among other things. although i can't confirm this because dodge won't release whats included with the stage 4. called them and asked and i kept getting transferred around like they were avoiding the question. and before i get flamed about why you would want all three stages, each has its own parts not included in the others. might be kinda badass to be able to afford all three and then the fourth and have a totally rockin fast as s*** neon.

well if all those stages make the engine even stronger and at the end, you get a different tranny or just upgraded parts .... that's awesome

but lotsa $$$

Not only demand but a sufficent demand, don't really see the Protege market as being a huge investment for companies. We have our few golden ones but overall the development isn't going to be there for much longer. Now if a few years from now other people start buying up used Proteges and mod them, then we stand a chance. But we will never be as strong as Honda or anyother company. :(

Thats why my pro is my daily driver, 71 vet is going to be the hot rod!! It's cool to be fast but if you can't do donuts or wheelies why do it?

when I pay off the protege.........
