Srt-6

I would not spend $10,000 on a Chrysler. Let alone $40,000+ on that SRT-6.

Matter of fact; the only Chrysler I would ever consider is the Viper. And; I cannot afford that.

FORD V6 Duratec engine

Yup you're right about the truck, van, and SUV. Don't think I'm trying to be a 'know-it-all', it's just that so many people don't understand the relationship between Mazda and Ford.

Anyhow like I originally stated, FORD has influence in Mazda vehicles Getting back to Newf post insulting himself...

"well, they are more dependable then

Chevy, any of GM really, Dodge, Ford, KIA, hyundai, Nissan, and I'll stop there before I insult someone.

Maybe not the "best". But better then a lot for sure. I'll choose my words better next time."

Ford Probe and Ford Escort both had Mazda engines...
True but neither one is still in production.

Some T-birds has Mazda engines too.

its more like ford is using a lot of mazda stuff.. i.e S40(volvo which ford owns) has same base plate/chasis as the the mazda 6 so its more like mazda still have a good quailty stuff and ford is borrowing it...

of course that works in reverse as well, ford's truck engine's are one of the best out there.. so of course mazda is going to use that. why invest in the R&D to build their own when their partenter already makes a great product..

It's called synergy. One company is good at one thing while the other one might have a better product distribution pipeline to certain countries so they get together and sell their products together. The protege that we all love is also marketed in a certain asian country as Ford Activa.

Nah, I don't agree with that....Honda has a luxury brand (Acura) in the US, so it would be teaming up with the enemy.

Same deal with Ford, Nissan, GM, etc.

Only Chrylser doesn't have a luxury brand in the US, so it makes perfect sense.

Im not a big Chrysler fan; however youre talking about a company that almost broke in the 80's and saved themselves with the introduction of the first mini van which propelled them out of the red and enabled them to purchase Lamborghini in 1987 and grow to be what they are today.

They have some of the most interesting vehicles on the market today and have been pushing the envelope for econ performance SRT-4 = cheap performance & performance Economy, with the new 300 which has 5.7 340hp V8, MB suspension & 17/25 per gallon fuel economy.

Todays Chrysler is a different company and I can see why MB went with them.

I would buy a Chrysler before a Ford that's for sure. GM doesnt really do much for me these days either. That SRT-6 looks like a "middle age crisis" car.

and since when Nissan is not a dependable manufacturer?

does ford own a larger potion of mazda...makin them offically controlled by ford? same with volvo.....gm also works with honda.....for instance honda got northstar technology in return for vtec for their saturn and other brands......this "tradin" has gone on for years.....(dance)

True the Saturn Vue got the V6 accord engine, the Chevy Duramax v8 turbo diesel is an Isuzu built engine, the Tracker has a Suzuki engine and the new sabb Awd wagon is a Subi!

Oh yes the old Geo Prizim was a Corolla..(smoke)

Actually, the S40 is based of the Ford (shared) C1 platform as is the Mazda3, not Mazda6. Here is some engine info: Various info

The SRT-6....I don't know...just something about it.
