What do you guys think if you had the choice to get either the protege garage SRI or the TWM Stage 2 SS?

The choice is yours.

I went sri and tip first. SS is coming though :) so the choice is really up to you.

Shift a little faster. or be faster and sound like a jet. its up to you.

Honestly I don't like the SS. I'm probably going to look for someone to trade me their stocker. Go for the SRI... I LOVE that mod!

Judging by the ridiculously short knob, and very short shift, I would guess stage 2. But, I have nothing to compare it too. I "normally" like short shifters... this would feels like a toy to me.

Short shifter is nice to have but I don't think it allows you to shift any faster in all honesty.

I would get the SRI and buy the 25 dollar bushings. The bushings are the important part. The stock throw isn't too bad. And the state 2 SS only reduces throw by 30% . . .

I really want to find a maker of one of those short shift plates to see if its possible to combine the two lol. That might be overkill but still a fun experiment.

+1 I got the stage II w/ bushings, and I love it. I changed all Redline tranny fluids and gear oil at the same time as the sts, and it was amazing. I'm surprised others didn't have such a big improvement. The car is 10x more fun to drive, and should have come this way stock IMO (or w/ the stage I).

I'm not pro shifter by any means, but I made a couple of short vids shifting after the fluids and sts went in so people could see the difference (no before video, but I could never shift this quickly with the stock set up and fluids).

I hope that helps.

The pedals, wheel, and shifter are the driver's interface with the car. If they are unpleasant it will definitely affect how much you enjoy driving the car.

With that said, a short-throw shifter upgrade is nice, but not entirely necessary for most people. I think the SRI + TIP upgrade combo is much more rewarding from an enthusiast's point of view. Hearing your turbo spool up each time will make you fall in love with this car over and over again.
