I currently own a P5 but I am looking at buying a cheap miata and swapping in a nissan sr20det redtop motor as a track car. Never having owned a miata does anyone here with some miata experience see any obvious problems other than potential problem with the wiring harness.

oil pan is to low. I'm not sure about the deck height, but why when the B6 and the BP can make just as much power

Save yourself the time and money and just use the stock powerplant and

turbocharge it. This would definatly outperform the stock sr20 turbo, and you

wouldnt have to go through the pain of installing it. I dont know if people

actually know how much work it is to do this kind of swap(finding/making

custom mounts, driveshaft and the wiring would be a nightmare).

Echoing the previous two posts, stick with the OE engine. It's quite easy to make a very nice increase in the power output with a turbo installatin while maintaining very good reliability.

I friend of mine is putting a S200 engine in his(whatever that thing is called.)

only reason is he wants N/A power/and it's a track only car.(not to mention the owner of the car has PLENTY of money to through around.)
