Squeaky Brakes when Reversing

I know this has been posted before but I wanted to know if anyone ever found a solution to the problem where the brakes squeak really bad when you reverse, usually in the morning or after a rain. Its pretty embarrassing having a car with 6500 miles squeaking on it like a old hoop'ty.

have your brakes looked at by the dealer... it should be covered under the "adjustment" warranty

I believe they will install new pads for you. I plan to ask next time I am at the dealer, since I now have 45,000 miles I guess it would be the perfect time for new pads!

uhh sure they'll be happy to install new pads for you... get your checkbook ready when you go there

I get it from time to time as well...There is nothing that can be done about it unless you switch the type of stock brake pads with ones of a different material...

Anytime your car sits for a while (usually overnight) after it has been washed, raining outside, hit by the sprinklers etc...The excess brake dust on the rotors forms a thin layer of rust...Once you drive and brake a couple of times, the rust comes off and your rotors are as good as new without a sound :D
