Squeaking Seat! Anyone else?

Bah little over 800 miles and my damn drivers seat squeaks like crazy. I will take a look at it this weekend, but if it does not stop, back to the dealer I go.

Anyone else had a problem with their MS3 seats? Mine are leather and its a spring-ish type squeak and not the nice squeak of leather.

Its the seat belt bracket rubbing against the seat. My wife found it when I was going nuts about it one day. Moved it down a bit and problem solved. Thats what we get for leather side bolsters, lol

yeah the noise drives me nuts. I keep telling myself I will get around to doing something about it...suaully i just turn on the radio when i start hearing it, lol

From another post on another forum, "I had a squeaky seat, and white lithium on the seat belt buckle bolt that attaches to the seat fixed it. The wave washer on it squeaks if not lubed well."

I had the same problem with the seat track on my CX-7, one dealership lubed it, the other replaced the track. The squeak drove me out of my mind because it was so constant.

Thanks guys. It does seem to be the seatbelt bracket. When it started it last night on my way home, I moved the seatbelt away from the seat and the sqeaking stopped.

What you are saying is the seat belt braket is adjustable, correct? The squeaking drives me nuts and the passenger belt is starting to squeak.

i had the same prroblem and when i brought it to the dealership for the mount recal i told them to look at the seat and it of course didnt make the noise for them and its been gone ever since lol

The section you plug your seat belt into, (the part with the button on it) needs to move down so it's not rubbing on the leather of your seat. Just move the piece between the seat and center console in a down and forward motion and the noise should stop.... hammer time.

I have the same problem. my speed3 is 2 weeks old.. i isolated the problem down to the seatbelt buckle.. didn't quite know what it was...
I was too busy to take it to the dealership, too.

I still can't understand what you guys are saying, though. I don't have leather. How is the seatbelt buckle adjustable?

it's not adjustable per se, it's angle changes. It's basically held in with a single bolt down below. That bolt allows the pivot angle of the belt bracket to move so that you can still plug in the seat belt at various seat heights, and positions. move the seat belt and it should keep it from rubbing against the seat leather/center console.

I'm glad I'm not crazy and will fix this asap as it is driving me nuts (stooges)

I would like to compare my squeak with yours.

From what you guys have found to be the problem, I still feel mine lies in the actual center console. My girlfriend told me it was the seatbelt, but i can sometimes duplicate the sound when I apply pressure to the lid, or when I shift.

Was yours squeaking when shifting?
And did it seem to squeak more with someone in the passenger seat.

I also hear it more when driving over uneven surface, or turns.

Also, can someone take a quick pic of where the seatbelt noise comes from?
