Because the Charger is a fullsize sedan where the Avenger is the middle size sedan.

That's what I was thinking. I don't think it looks awful. In fact the grill is about the only thing I strongly object to. Different taillights would be nice. I saw a black Charger SRT-8 today and thought it looked pretty darn good. I agree though that I would like to see more diversity in the product line of any company. As it is I don't believe I will ever buy an Avenger (at least not this one). This just looks too much like a me-too charger for those who can't afford one. Plus, silver on that car just does not look good.

it looks smaller and is probably a V6 FWD car like the old, unmissed Avenger was.
