I am going to autocross my car so i was wondering if anyone has after market springs that are a lot stiffer than the stock springs.

Also does anyone know the stock spring rates F&R and what their aftermarket rates are? I am just looking to get a little more oversteer from the car and I can tell the rear springs are kinda soft.

Thanks for the help

Shane

Please use the search button next time. I think you may also find what you are looking for in the tech section. There are tons of springs out there so here is a list of them for you to practice your search skills

Eibach Springs
JIC FLT A2 Coilovers
Tein SS Coilovers
Tein Springs
Ground Control Coilovers
Skunk2 Coilovers
HKS Springs
Spool Springs
H&R Springs
Racing Beat Springs

I seriously doubt you need stiffer springs than what you have. If anything, get the Mazdaspeed (not the stock ones) struts that are adjustable. Then get some R compounds and you'll be good to go.

The speed struts are not adjustable! If they are i need to find where to adjust them.

I agree with the metric spring rate, but I have different American spring rates. I know this is just a conversion thing, but I am just picky like that.

Front: 2.59kg/mm (145 lbs/in)
Rear: 2.10kg/mm (117.5 lbs/in)

anyone using the tein or awr springs? I see the rates for those are 300lb and 600lb respectivly. Just wondering how the handling is.

The Tein S-Tech's ride seemed significantly softer than the stock Racing Beat springs that came on my MP3. If the rates that scapamouche posted are stock Protege sping rates, then that means that the MP3 springs are 215lb ft. for the front and 152lb ft. for the rear. The Tein S-Tech sprins for the Protege Sedan and Protege5 are 179lb ft. in the front and 145lb ft. in the rear. The SS Coilover Kit for the protege has nice stiff spring rates at 336lb ft. front and 280lb ft. rear. not to forget about the adjustability of the SS Coilover Kit.

I'm sure yours are more accurate. I was doing the conversion off the top of my head.

Seems WWAAYYY too light to me... Maybe it's just the 400lb f/500lb r springs I had in my Celica ;)

Just to give some of you a heads up, the JIC Spring Rates for the FLTA2 Coilovers are Front 393lb ft. Rear 225lb ft.

Makes sense to me. Most of the weight of the car is in the front because of the engine. Therefore, there should be high rates in the front.
