Spring install assistance

Dimitios, I'm up for the install meet. I thought you bough Teins spring. Now you got Tokico shocks? Are you gonna install both of them? I want to see even thought I haven't gotten any springs. What do you think of Gold-Lines spring? I'm planning on getting them.

Matt (NRRfrogmanP5) has the Teins installed (he had them at the meet...it was the Laser Blue P5 - you waited with him at the Tinley Park Holiday Inn....)

I picked up a set of H&R springs and had gotten in on the group buy (see here: http://www.protege5.com/vbb230/showthread.php?t=54383) on Tokico struts - I bought a set of HPs.

I haven't heard of Gold Lines (well, I have, but not that much). How much are you looking to spend? I set a budget for suspension and stayed within it (burnout) .....Do you have a link for the Gold Lines? There are so many better Protege springs out there (Tein, Racing Beat, iON, Eibach, H&R, Mazda's own MazdaSpeed units.....etc....) that I wouldn't personally bother with Gold Lines.

Thanks for the offer Ken. I'll be out of town on Sunday thru. next Friday so I'm strapped for time this weekend. Perhaps next?.....All my employment travel are belong to my boss.

at the next meet, i have to drive someones car with springs. i forget to, and i was thinking of getting some. first i have to see how low the lip goes first ;)

i wouldn't go with Gold Lines personally. I love my Racing Beats, and the Eibachs are hard to beat. Teins are nice, but they drop the car too low for me. We sell a complete line of struts and springs at Protege Garage if you are interested in the different types; http://www.mazda3online.com/index.php?cPath=27_41

Tien's are like a 2" drop - Matt's 5 looked sweet, but it was a little too much for me as well....It drove just fine though! Felt like stock - handling was OK though....

The H&Rs, Eibachs, and most others drop around 1.3" to 1.5" depending on make....

There are also Ground Control and Skunk2 coil-over kits that allow you to adjust the height as you wish.

Somebody from this forum said the founder of Gold-Lines (http://www.goldlineonline.com) was one of the founder from Eibach. I'm not sure if it's true or not. It is cheaper, $150, and it drops about 1.7 inches on all four wheels. Matt's Pro5 front wheels dropped too much compare to rear wheels. I just want my car to be lower and a little softer than stock.
Ken, thanks for the offering. I'm not sure if I really want to spend $200+ for the springs. I guess I will keep looking...

I dunno...that website makes the products look as if they're winding them around a tree trunk clamped in a vice in someone's garage....call me biased....

I got my H&Rs for $120 shipped of some guy on eBay that never installed them (he ended up selling his Protege5). Look around, I'm sure you'll find a good deal on something decent.

where have you found them for 150 - is that with or without shipping? i tried accessing thier site and i couldn't get anything but a 404 error. I've found that my distributor does carry these springs if you want them, $140 plus shipping.

Ooh, ooh - me too!

OK . . . I only have half the springs.

A raked look is cool too, isn't it?
