sport with standard rearview

i purchased the autodim with compass, but i need to know how to remove the stock sport mirror. no set screw or tab?????? also anyone know where the mirror is fed from on the other models that come with that mirror. any help appreciated

You need a long screw driver, about 5 mm wide, and insert it at the base of the mirror and push up. There is a hole at that point. That will release the spring and then wiggle the mirror upwards. And, careful, the mirror mount that somes with the stock mirror is kind of cheap and will break. I wil post up a picture of the stock mirror backside in a bit.

thnaks, i got it off na d the new on, now any help on detaching the pillar panel and finding the plug????? any help appreciated.

ok, got the wire run all the way under the dash, now.......... where's the source??????

if its anything like the protege 5 it connects under the dash at the fuse panel by the drivers feet. It has an empty pin in it and the ground is at the back of the fuse panel.

ok, well i found someone on the other cx-7 forum that had scanned the installation instructions. actually really easy when you have the directions. If anyone would like i can attach the .pdf file. Love it already

Please attach, I've been thinking of buying the compass mirror, but I didn't want to have to deal with a messy install!

Install is very easy. I put one in the MPV and that was about a 15 minute effort. There are a couple of taps you need to run to a wire harness.
