hey guys and once again i have another ?. is the sound system or the BOSE speakers really worth getting or should i just get the sport and buy some aft speakers? once again im sorry for posting so much but i wanna get a car the i think i would enjoy. the MS3 is deff for me but im just curious bout the int.

Most people on here are going to tell you how awful Bose is. For the money, you can definitely build a much better system yourself. The only cool thing I see about the Bose system is that the subwoofer is mounted under the front passenger seat, so it takes up no trunk space.

I decided to go with the GT for the several reasons, including the Bose. I spent considerable time test driving the Sport and was disappointed with the sound system. There is plenty of bass in the Sport, but it is boomy and bloated, which made it sound terrible. Although the Bose may be lacking in bass, I am expecting the sound to have better focus with tighter bass. Aftermarket may be difficult with the integration of the sound system in the dash.

You can get high quality converters that convert the pre-amplified outputs to line level, then get an amp, small subwoofer, and new front door speakers. Keep the stock radio unit to retain the factory integration look. Oh and you can upgrade to the 6-disc changer, add an auxiliary input (though I think they all come with this now), and do other things all with the stock radio unit.

It is a hell of a lot easier to just check off an option on the spec sheet for the car when you are ordering it than to go through with building yourself a system, but even if you take it to a pro I bet you can get a much better system for less. Most (90+%) of people would be totally satisfied with the Bose system. I know I love the Bose system in my mom's Altima. It has great clarity and a nice rich feeling. I know it's not the greatest stuff out there, but hell.. it's a car. You're driving, with road noise, wind noise, etc. When I want serious music listening, I have my grado headphones for that :D

i have a mazdaspeed3 gt and the bose system is good only for the avrage person looking for a reasonable system. decent highs and mids, but the lows are nonexistent. I am not really a fan of bass, so it works well for me since i mainly listen to dance music while driving. Don't just get the gt if you want it for the sounds. get it if you will want all the other extras (hid's, climate control, trip computer, etc...)

I feel like the last guy does. I would go for the bose. I'll never do another big sound system. It's just too much and too heavy for these little cars.

I don't know what people are saying that the Bose is crappy-sounding in the GT. I think it sounds phenomenal (with the exception of the stupid ALC controls which don't work right). I'm coming from a VW with that giant piece of s*** Monsoon system. THAT was crap. This Bose system sounds great. Plenty of low end.

Given how integrated sound systems are now, I wouldn't bother messing around with putting aftermarket stuff.

Actually Volkswagen have come a long way in the audio department. There newest vehicles are equipped with Dynaudio speakers which are up-there in quality with CDT, not. But still, I consider Dynaudio better then Bose by a long shot. I like the compactness of Bose but, the paper cones make me sick.

I don't mind the Bose system. Keep in mind I enjoy driving and listening to music is just an extra. If I wanted great sounding music, I would go home and listen to my surround system in the house, at any level I feel like.

I'm not putting money into a sound system in a car that I drive to and fro. I'll put money into mods for performance and drivablity, not audio.

My 2 cents

I think if you're really into great sound, you should go aftermarket.

IMO, if you're thinking about the GT just for the sound, then it's probably not worth it. But if you want all the extras that come with it (hids, rain sensing wipers etc)then it's a bargain.

I don't listen to loud music and I'm not a particularly picky audiophile so the sport did it for me. However the only way you'd know for sure is to hit the dealers and test them for yourself.

The Bose system in my MS3 sounds quite good. My wife's Bose in her Murano does not sound near as good.

bose system is pretty satisfying, when i was younger i was all about how much bass i could produce and i had 4k watt amp 2 serious 12's then i had 2 15's in my 04 3 and im jsut grown out of making my ears hurt really bad for no apparent reason at all...its good quality very clear...the bass is alot better since i installed aftermarket jensen tv in dash and i enjoy it...getting it on ur car already when you buy it = no bulls*** hassles trying to install s***...gt i got because leather, headlights, bose, and wipersn and automatic headlights....get the gt..after 1 week of driving the sport u wil probably feel bad and wish u got gt

I got the sport. I don't really care for the audio, and the one in the sport is not too bad. The only thing that I wanted from the GT was the HIDs, and I can get it for less than $200. Trip computer can be unlocked.

Sweet, I got the sport and saved a bunch of money on s*** I dont need. To each his own but leather/audio/auto wipers dont matter much to me. Just the hid's but oh well, my pocket is heavier.

I didn't even know there was a sub lol, think it would be hard to fit an aftermarket one in there and power it with an external amp off the stock headunit? Does the stock have a remote wire connection?

I too used to he heavy into car audio. Now not so much, im fine with the sport system. Im getting too old to be boomin down the street lookin for hizzoes. My wife nor my 3 kids will think its very cool ha ha. If your not a big car audio fanatic, the regular sport model will be fine.

I don't like leather seats and throw a sub in the stock sport and turn down the bass and up the highs and it's more than adaquate for maybe $300. That and the only black on the lot was a sport. You are really stuck with the stock radio because it is used for so many other things. I honestly am having so much fun driving, the radio is just backgroung noise now.

I've placed in the top 10 for several national audio competitions. I know music. Anybody who says there is no bass either has no feeling or doesn't know how to turn it up. It's not the hardest hitting out there, but unless you're one who wants everybody else to hear it also you don't need more in a car designed for speed/handling.

as stated before, if you dont want all other stuff coming with the gt trim, keep your cash... but be sure about it caus the difference between both trim is so ridiculous that many sport buyer regret.

Still happy i didnt had to take that decision since there was only 1 trim for canada (canada)

I got all i wanted, HIDs, rain sensing wiper, bose audio system(wich is more than enough for me), trip computer.

I could have liked to have the nav system but maps for canada suck so its not a big deal.

GL with your buy
