How did you negotiate price without knowing the trim??

For example, my current car shows up as: 2008 MZ5 GT A
Took a double take at the document and it may not be as off as we think. Notice page 3, under Touring - Function/Powertrain is left blank. This means a carry over from the lower package so auto and manual was an option for Touring!.. It is only the GT that is limited to the auto. The GT is where it is at. I'd consider another '08-09 5sp GT and do the taller 5th gear mod. Did a quick google and it seems Mazda VINs don't distinguish transmission. This may not be a good indicator and the "A" and "P" might be something totally unrelated.That*s cool.
