So what has anyone heard about this little piece from Austrailia?

From the website, it says that the fuel maps are completely tuneable by palm/laptop.

So does that mean that you'll have to keep the laptop plugged in all the time to monitor engine management, or is this just to tune?

How many of you are thinking about getting this instead of the "makebelieve" flash that Mazda will put into their POS ecu's now?

Any takers on this?

You dont need to have a palm or laptop plugged in all the time. I am deffinitly gonna talk to Terry about the possibility to put it in my MSP. The ability to be able to have total control of the ECU's duties is the greatest tool to anyone in the sport compact realm.

I wholeheartedly agree.

The only problem is our warranty...

They'll know we switched, unless we take out the ecu every time we go to service

If it is a full ECU swap, that is no biggie. It takes about 45 minutes to swap, and then allow it to reset.

Would the aftermarket ecu still retain the settings once it has been disconnected?

(or is that something you save on the laptop..... I think I'm getting it here... plus the ecu should have it's own back up power source, eh... hm.. ok) :D
