Spooled up Racing's RX7 build thread

Last night I purchased a set of MAZDA oil control O-rings.. I have yet to decided if I am going to use the Mazda ones on this build or the Viton.. last build I used the Viton rings..
 
Hey got my black dragon catalog last night. The carpet they sell does not have any holes precut so the storage box holes are not in them
 
I got my parts today (almost all of them)

I received

Side seals
Side seal springs
Corner seals
Corner seal springs
FD oil pump
oil pump chain
oil control ring springs
RE fuel rails
both engine housings..

now for the funny part...

I opened up the engine housings and one says REJECT right on it where the housing has a mark in it.. so now I have to wait until they send me another new housing. lol

Ok I just bought:

2 720cc injectors (going on the primary rail)
2 1500cc injectors (going on the secondary rail)

Also just bought my OEM Mazda apex seal springs (all 12 BRAND NEW)

sounds like you are looking to turn the boost up this time. that fuel system should easily support 15 psi with plenty left over.
 
yes with a T4 turbo on top of that..

I just bought my MAZDA OEM 2pc apex seals.. and tonight I may be purchasing my Haltec :)
 
and I thought you were just gonna Pop out the engine and replace the bad part!...
SEE,what did I tell ya on the Phone Dave?..you Wanna replace ONE part..JUST one,and you and up replacing about 30 more parts afterwards!..(downright Evil!..heh).

OK so Today I picked up the following

S4 Turbo trans (said to be in good shape) 100.00 (I went 25 miles to pick it up)

Also from the same guy

RE engine mount brackets (www.banzai-racing.com brackets) BRAND NEW I paid 100.00 for them..

AND

my MAZDA oil control o-rings showed up :) WOOT WOOT..
 
Today I received..

Mazda 2pc APEX seals
Mazda Apex seal springs (all 12)
1580CC bosh injectors (2)

I am still waiting for my 720cc injectors to show up.. and prolly more.. hell I forgot what else I ordered lol..
 
when is it lol.. depends if business picks up.. I hope to start building the engine this weekend (or atleast the porting etc.)
 
OK last night I purchased:
set of slightly used FD (93-95) RX7 stationary gears.. they are hardened from the factory and include the 3 window bearings (in excellent condition) and have the set screw in them

ALSO

both needle bearings (new mazda)
oil pump washer and bolt (new mazda)
flywheel nut (new mazda)
key way for the oil pump (new mazda)

and I think thats it.

hopefully by the end of the week I will be purchasing my FEED CNC steel flywheel (11lbs)
 
Ok last night I got another package..

Oil pump nut, washer and key
both needle bearings
flywheel nut

I expect the FD frt/rear stay gears to show up today or early next week.

then I am going to buy the FEED flywheel.

once I get the stay gears in.. I will begin cutting the irons and going from there..

CANT WAIT FOR PORTING TIME!!!
