Well first off I would really like to thank Justin for letting us use his car and for his help all day today switching out parts on and off the car:D

I have sheets and hopefully will get them scanned tommorow so I can post them here and on the website.

First off all we utilized a Dynojet Dyno.
It was 79.7 degrees farenheight
96% Humidity and at sealevel.

We baselined the car at 144whp @ stock

We did a couple of pulls on the dyno at stock boost with our CAI intake and Front mount intercooler upgrade. We got about 5 pulls in ranging from a low 162.6whp to 177.2whp

We did notice that boost did spike to 7.4psi on some of the runs accounting for the varying #'s

We then cranked up the boost to 9.5 psi and ran it on the dyno getting a whopping 193.4whp.

We cranked it up to 10psi (peaking at 10.3) getting some real good numbers.
Our best run of the day at 201.4whp:eek:

A quick review.

The car: 2003 MSP
The Mods: SPOOL FMIC, SPOOL CAI & Boost controller.

Baseline on stock car 144whp

Baseline on modded car @ stock boost 177.2whp

Modded car @10 psi 201.4whp

All pulls were done with the stock exhaust and fuel.
We realized some serious dips and platues on the dyno due to the overly rich condition between 4-5k. Leaning out of the fuel curve and a free flowing exhaust will yield some serious numbers(laugh)

We really do not know since we really were short on time and were switching parts on the car. I will try to get a bone stock MSP in the near future and see what numbers we can get with it sporting our CAI alone:)

spoolinmp3 - Not to mean any disrespect, but interesting #'s. How many runs in total did you guys do for the "after" dyno was that 5 runs for after the FMIC install or 5 runs including baseline??

I guess we should've used our peak dyno values & our CAI upgrade too ;) :D We used the 12th run as a stopping point as the #'s wouldn't get any lower.

Do you have the associated torque values as well?

Very nice #'s!!! That makes 2 now with similar #'s that were both using a setup like I will be running. SWEEEET!!! 200whp, that's just what I was hoping for.:D

GOD DAMN IT!
NOW someone puts up some respected numbers!
Nice numbers!
Too bad I quit modding my car?
Why couldn't you have done this months ago?
Did I mention ......NICE NUMBERS!
Still not enough for thirteens though?
I will say it is getting close!
Matt;)

Ion we did a total of 16 runs a couple hours on the dyno:)
I just posted a "highlight" or brief preview of our dyno runs.

Yes we did get torque values. The 201whp run made 187.7lbs of tq

The 177whp run made 186.8lbslbs of tq. I will post more in depth numbers when the charts are posted.

Thanks 505zoom ForceFed for the props:)

Too bad I quit modding my car?
Why not start again:p

spoolinmp3 - thanks for the info. What was the baseline torque values? Definately looking forward to seeing the charts.

Since 16 total runs were conducted, guess you guys didn't have a chance to test the threshold at which the lowest gains were reached?

Gosh, I just love to see these performance guys share info and playing fair=)

Seriously though, its really cool that you guys are really pushing towards a fast protege and not a fast paycheck.

You are WELCOME!
You never know what tomorrow will bring!
I may go back to modding again in the future?
Hmmmmm???????
Matt;)

mp3moose - you should see what we've been able to accomplish on making the Subarus fast ;) We currently hold the title for putting together the top 3 of the 5 fastest WRX's in Europe :) They all use our exhaust pieces and turbos :)

great #s. What does the whole set up cost. The fmic , the cai, and the boost controler. I am just wondering what Ion and Spool are selling this set up for?

Ion- is it just me or is this a post about spool? No offence or anything but lay off the thread jacking...

Chris@Spool - just providing the info that ZoomingMSP wanted, we don't mean any disrespect.

We're just very interested in seeing the testing procedure and methods that were employed, as that's one thing we're very meticulous at doing. Thus providing results that can be replicated time and time again.

For our testing, we ran the car in stock trim for 10 runs. For the "after-dynos" We ran the car in stock trim except the FMIC upgrade for 12 runs, as we couldn't get any less power gain.

Hopefully this info along with info provided by you guys will allow people to understand the various testing methods applied.

Chris- I'm sure you've heard it a million times, but I'll say it again anyway:

THAT CAR IS DOPE!!!!:)

thanks :D

BTW:

Our FMIC kit is $975, This kit requires no cutting of your cars sheetmetal or frame. The FMIC kit utilizes full stainless piping with silicone hose connectors. Also a bov flange is also included.

Our CAI runs $175 but, if purchased with FMIC kit $150. This is also made out of full stainless.

Also if you want to buy a boost controller with the rest of the pieces (Greddy profec B spec II) the price is $325 (reg. $355)

All items purchased togeather (fmic/cai) include FREE SHIPPING!
