I don't know about that. I didn't baby my car at all after installing my inlet/intake and my car doesn't do anything like that.

So over the weekend I installed a turbosmart bov and the problem in fifth gear went away. Now I truelly believe it was my stock bpv that was leaking high boost. After examing the stock bpv, I'm surprised it held more then 5psi, what a crappy cheap plastic piece it is.

I spike to 14-16 then it drops back down to 10-12 and holds. So much for 15.8 or whatever its supposed to be.

Yeah stock bpv. I dunno if it's leaking or if it's based on my elevation. This s*** is too complicated. I have a type s bov ready to install but I'm scared of turning it up too high.

Yea..its leaking for sure. Elevation doesnt play a role on PSI. The turbo will just spin fastyer until the PSI is reached. It plays a role on boost lag tho.

Even if your spiking to 18psi your fine. I was running 21psi on the stock turbo and internals fine.

how's your re worked ko 4? did it make a big difference?

that is completely false. I am based in colorado and have logged boost at my elevation vs close to sea level. I will hit a max of 13 psi in 3rd-6th in colorado, then drop to 10 psi. When I was at sea level I hit a max of 17 psi and held at 15-16 psi. Its clear that our car doesn't rely on hitting a specific PSI when stock. However, interestingly enough, when you run a COBB AP map here, then the car DOES reach the desired PSI (18 for stage 1). Here are the two graphs I posted on another forum for the same discussion. There is a HUGE difference when concerned with elevation.
