Well, they're not selling on ebay for more than $13 grand for a reason. The only thing that seperates eBay from the auto traders and big lots of the world is functionality and popularity. Auto Trader, though not nearly as popular as Ebay, does generate a lot of hits. However, it's interface is prehistoric and the way their cars are dispayed is anything but impressive. This Big Lots is athestically more pleasing, however, with the relative low number of hits, I doubt it'll get the type of penetration you're looking for. Basically, if you insist on selling it online, ebay is your best bet. But as you said, our cars just don't sell on ebay the way WRX's and Evos do. The reason: No one realizes how great they are! If I hadn't read up on them, I would have thought they were just another slow car with cheesy aftermarket materials bolted on. (think the Lancer OZ Rally) Obviously that's not even close to the truth. But mainstream America doesn't know that. Mazda simply didn't promote this product one iota.
I'm still a bit confused about your reason for selling it. If it's purely financial, fine. Though, I feel the amount of money you'll be losing will far outweigh any temporary "gain" by selling it now. Anyway, you also cited the fact that your husband likes muscle cars. I'm not sure what that has to do with it since it's your car. I mean... you're the one who researched it... tested a few competing models... and decided to buy it for yourself, right??? If that's the case, why sell it because he's into mucsle cars? Don't tell me he's making you sell it because it's an "import". As far as not being able to take care of it... why the hell not??? You obviously loved this car enough to buy it. Don't you find it fun to take car of things you love? I know I do!
Anyway... good luck to you! Hope you keep your Speed. If not.... some lucky bastard will get it dirt cheap because that's the only way you can sell this thing at this time. Take care.
