Spicey MSP Build underway!!!

I actually prefer it, I believe it vents the are charge better because when the throttle body closes, I believe, and this is my reasoning, it sends a "wave" of unused pressure thru the intake charge pipes, well the BOV being on the hot pipe, again in my belief, allows the BOV more time to open completely before the "wave" gets there. Once open and the charge vented, the spool from the turbo isn't trying to push thru the intercooler to the BOV, rather strait out the BOV, improving the time it takes for the turbo to re-spool and mine is about 8 inches from the turbo outlet. Once more this is my logic and idk if there is testing to prove me wrong. BUT I have 0 turkey now and my spool is at like 2000 RPM (although this might be from a full 3" exhaust system and a lil' GT25). :D

hey m4n - didn't realize you were in WA. hit me up if you make it to seatown. would be cool to meet up check out the spicy.

Bring it down I want to check it out!

Drove down to Corksport today the guy up front said you where busy. Bought the urethane exhaust hangers. Already installed them too. Anyway up to 390 miles on the break-in once I'm at 500 I will be making some better vids

Just ordered the Ground Control coil over sleeves about 10 minutes ago :D trying to go about an inch lower in front and like 1.5 rear

I figure the stock tokico hp's are plenty of shock and eibach race springs will do nicely. I'm going to put the money I saved towards some Rota wheels. All I see that is better about the full coilover is adjustability which for a street car isn't really nessicary.

This is very true.

Yeah it's already raining up here in WA, pretty much started as soon as I finished.

fantastic job. sounds throaty. Very nice representation of what the corksport exhaust should sound like without bottle necks. Regardless of power level, 2 things I fully endorse: J&S Ultra safeguard and a total oil system upgrade. Protect all that you just did with this build so you can keep from having to do it over again.

I think he meant the DocB oil pump upgrade more than the oil pan. It helps prevent oil starvation.

I actually meant the whole system. The pan helps with capacity. That helps when the turbo is returning foamy oil. The pump is coated to eliminate cavitation (keeps pressure consistent). The pump also has the internal regulator eliminated and the PRV is external so you can properly set the right pressure or your application. Add a cooler and a bigger better filter. A gauge will be required, but is nice for monitoring pressure. Pressure will keep the metal from touching metal. Flow will help keep the temps low and reduce breakdown. The oil system will only be as good as its weakest link. In stock form, thats the whole thing. Too many guys blowing their s*** up from starvation and so on... I can help you with a parts list if you want?

Well that would have been nice when the engine was out of the car. I'm pretty sure it'll be fine for now. It has to be at this point.

I said the same thing on my second build. Famous last words until you find the next weak link. On my fourth build now and truly believe the J&S and the oil system save my ass. Sucks having to buy the same things over and over when the right way should have just been done to begin with. All that triple purchasing could have went towards more upgrades rather than replacement parts. Your car is so nice, just want to offer my experience so it doesnt happen to you too.

No its just that I might have done at least the oil pump coating if I knew about it when the engine was torn apart and the pump was in a towel in a box. Now that I'm done I'm not about to tear it apart. I'm moving back to Northern CA in 2 months and I need $ and all my cars running.
