Well I found our you can get the speed vision header for $499.00 and a mild stell one for $375.00 if anyone is interested in buying one. I think they were selling for like $1,000.00.

STAINLESS 4-2-1 HEADER 2.0 ENGINE
Header designed for our Speedvision World Challenge Touring car. $499.00
Also available in mild steel for $375.00

Eliminates converter.

I am going to try to get some photo links so I can place them here.

Im going to order if anyone wants to after I see a picture of both.

I have no idea. I am going to try to contact them to see what it is. I think the one is stainless stell and the other is mild steel. I just dont know what the mild steel is.

So this will take off the pre-cat or the first catalyctic (sp?) converter?

That's the way I understand it... and that is one of the best prices that I have seen. I can't wait for more info- that sight just doesn't say enough to warrant my spending 3-500 w/out more info though. Specially when there isn't a pic!

I e-mailed them and sent a link to this thread... hopefully they will reply back and give us some additional info.

Thanks. I also did a little research on the net. Every header that I found that was mild steel was ceramic coated. So Im taking it the one is the stainless steel and the other one is the ceramic coated mild steel. Either way I am going to buy. And I am also 100% possitive it takes off the cats.

sure mild steel can be powder coated. almost anything can be powder coated, but i don't think you want to powder coat a header becuase it will get too hot and probably burn off. most steel headers are ceramic coated.

No news for me yet- maybe I'll call them while I am at work today... hopefully I don't have to, but I will this afternoon if they do not respond.

I'm sorry Horn, my computer at work has been down for 3 days now- hopefully I will have it back on Mon, then I can at least check my e-mail (my work is the one that I gave them. If I do not have a reply, or my computer is still not working I will call them.

Man, I don't know. I have e-mailed them for the 3rd time. There is not a phone number listed. I'll keep looking though...

I am sure this header will not eliminate the main cat, only the precat. The main question is if it has inputs for the leftover O2 sensore from the precat.

This we need to know. I'll see if one of my contacts can get to them.

WooHoo!
AWR sent me a phone number. I just tried to call it and no one answered, but I will try back later. I'll post to this thread if and when I get through! Later,

OK- I just talked to Tony Woodford, the owner of AWR. He just returned to the office, and has been going through his e-mails. Apparently, they have seen such a huge response that they are currently not producing or selling this fabbed part, because they are waiting on a response from a call that they put into Mazda this morning (1/22/02). Due to the response from the public, they are working with Mazda and looking to turn this into a regular production model. He told me to call him back in 2 weeks, by then everything should be set in stone. So hold on and wait to buy a header for a couple of more weeks. I inferred that the price should drop a bit once they begin mass producing it! No guarantees, but I will stew for a couple of weeks and see what Tony has to tell me then...
Later,
