speeding ticket

hey, i got a speeding ticket, well i got a date at a court. Anyone know how to go about getting out of the ticket if its at all possible.. and do i actually need a lawyer? If there is no way to get out of it then im not even going to bother fighting it because i was definatly going 80. Anyone kno what they do?? I heard that you can get out of the fine if you go to some kond of driving school or traffic safety course.

In Nebraska you can take a class if it's your first ticket in the past 3 years, but that's under 19 over, I think. So I don't think you'd qualify.

When I went to talk to the city attorney about my ticket, she said I could plead for a lesser offense, i.e. 10 over, when I was really doing 12 over. I think she thought I was cute hehe. But that's about it. She said w/ speeding you can't really argue. Good luck.

get a lawyer........if its ur first offense i believe they offer u the class to keep points off, or PJC(??)

ive gotten more then damn near 38 tickets in a year an still drivin due to my lawyer haha

you CANT take the class, the class is only for those who kept it under 15/20 mph over...me i was going 70 in a 45 and following to closely...COULDNT take the class but, got a lawyer and now its gone i DID however have to use my PJC aka prayer for judgement...have to watch my ass for 2 more yrs though...IF you do get a PJC, DO NOT get a ticket within 3 yrs, if you do they BOTH come back and kick your ass.......thats why im way to cautious about the way i drive....hope this helps bro and good luck, keep us posted!!

get a lawyer because i was in the same situation except i was arguing about being 25mph over because he said i was going 60mph in a 35mph zone, and i thought i was going 58mph. i was 19 when i got that ticket, and i still haven't gone to court for it. it's been a year n 3 months on friday. my court date is in december or january, and january 2 i will be 21 so i probably will get a ridiculous fine, and i might have to take some diving classes. some of the officers that i know said they wont be too hard on me since it's my first ticket. one of my friends did the samething, and he got a court date before me, and he had to pay $375 for his ticket. also, i only go 10mph over the speed limit now. try doing that, but you can pick 5 to be extra safe.
