Speeding Ticket Anyone?

No tkt. But 3 days after I got my MS3 I got pulled over when taking someone from work for a ride. I got pulled over doing 62 in a 40mph zone. The cop asked me if I liked my car...and where I worked. He ended up writing me a warning!!!! That cop was awesome! :P

Wow, he must've been in a good mood! lol Ths first time I got pulled over(very first time), I was giving someone a ride to work. No ticket, and the cop was extremely nice about it. I made an "illegal" turn, and it was a stupid move, and I very much expected a ticket, but he let me go with only a verbal warning! I couldn't believe it. And to top it off, my registration was BURIED in a stack of papers and receipts somewhere in my glove box. I serisously couldn't find it. Very embarrasing, considering it was a girl I liked that I was giving the ride to. D'oh!

1 AM ...Sun ..

While returning home after dinner at a friend's...I see a cop on the right lane checking out some map on his computer at the light. The light turns green and he takes off in a hurry on the service road. I think what are the chances of another patrol car nearby and (drive2) enter the ramp and ease down on the pedal only around 100. Then I let it slow down and see someone riding my bumper in the rear view. And then those delightful lights(five-0) lit up my car's interior. I slow down and pull up on the shoulder, cursing myself worrying if the lingering aroma from those couple of glasses 4 hours ago are going to put me into some midnight acrobatics on the shoulder.
Officer's at the window. The stereo is already off and the window rolled down.
He asks for the insurance and license. When I fumble for my license in the new clip my heart skips a beat. There you go Sir, and the insurance envelope's in the glove box.
Hmm.. "your insurance has expired, Sir" ...."Hoh...hum... it's renewed, the same number should still work". Flashes his light on the registration sticker and says he 'll be back in a moment. While the moment seemed like forever.. he's back with some paper. Hmm.. now I'm already counting the months since my the last traffic school(hand) . He returns my insurance papers. I ask "Do you need me to bring my latest insurance to the somewhere for proof ?" He hands me the receipt.. I reach for the paper dreading the worst. But this was the good cop (atleast after 2 bad cops I get a good one). "No Sir, this is a Warning, Just carry your current insurance papers in the car". As he hands me the warning, he asks me how to pronounce my last name. It took me three times before he got it. Of course I was mouthing it without blowing a lot of air. And each time he was inching closer to the window. "And watch your speed Sir, you were doing 88". Phew... "Awww Thank You Officer!" . And then it was 55mph all the way to the second exit from there.... thanking all the stars in the sky and on the uniform.. I head home with a big silly grin on my face.(lol2)

40 in a 25, in rural, western Mass.. $100..

I've gotten away with all my actual speeding though.. I have gotten the car up to 145 in a 55, which was nice for a few moments until I ran out of road..

79 in a 55; 89 in a 55; 50 in a 25; 70 in a 55; running a stop sign(for those that know, the wagner burnout PA incident); 4 no front tags; 2 repair orders; 2 warnings; i think i win most tickets... lol

hikaru- speed is an addiction, lol

Wow, midnightracer22. That is quite an, um, impressive list.

I had a 60 in a 35, officer bumped it down to a 40 in a 35, so no points just a fine. First nice cop I've ever been pulled over by.

haha....so my buddy tim and i were cruising around (in his 93 ford probe gt) on some back roads...around 75 in a 35 when bam a tribal police officer pops out of nowhere, throws the lights on and we start to pull over...all of the sudden tim just guns it, we're jamming down this dirt access road at like 90 miles and hour cop flying right behind us...(im on my cell phone, calling my talking to my parents attorney) two hours, a lot of police cars, a helicopter, two spike strips, a rolled probe gt, and a telephone poll later, we stopped. so as it were, my friend tim got into a lot of trouble. Every stop sign/ stop light ran, failure to yeild, lane change without signalling, human endangerment, resisting arrest, failure to stop, etc...(the police apparently keep track of every violation and just add them on to your "tab" at the end). He was 17, cannot drive until he is 32 (15 years from date of incident) 3 years in a correctional facility. And fines out the ass...they charge you for everything (helicopter fuel and pilot time, telephone poll, property damage) it was nasty. As my attorney put it i was an "unwilling participant, subject to the will of a malicious, egomaniac." I was viewed as a victim.

Radared @ 127/55 passing a boat and trailer on a broken yellow on route 208 in Va near Lake Anna. Cop going other way, radared me, had to wait to turn around and then got stuck behind the boat himself. I had already pulled over. I wasn't going to run. (had a previous instance of that and was caught)

I was on a CBR1100XX. I grew up in that county and the officer dated my sister in highschool. I didn't remember him, but he remembered me. Wrote me for 74/55 which was one under reckless. Told me to just pay it. If I showed up in court he was going to start running his mouth. He also found out about my running a few years prior when he radioed in my DL# and KNEW I'd get strung up with a reckless. He actually helped me out a lot. Nice guy. I heard he was bragging to the other deputies that he actually pulled over a bike that was going 120mph plus. He left out the part that I had already stopped.

ur damn luck swamp....I had a friend that got radared at 140 on his ninja, he tried to run (like a jackass) and wasnt paying enough attention. A caddy pulled out in front him, he hit the back drivers side and launched himself over the car. Killed an old lady in the back seat...how he didnt die, I'll never know... well at least not til he gets out of jail in 5 years

that's nuts. I'd like to add I was on a 2 lane road that was about as empty as you could get with miles of visability. The cop was about a mile away when I was merging back into the correct lane. He was so far away I didn't immediately hit the brakes because I didn't know he was a cop (not that it would have mattered at that point)

As for a car ticket, I've never gotten a ticket for more than 19 over. Most have been 11-15 over.

Damn swap I think the real story needs to be about your sister. She must have made him a happy guy or he would have nailed you to the wall to get back at her, lol.

Indeed. This was back in 97 though. It was a bit laxer then. What's funny is that since VA ramped up its laws in regard to aggressive driving, the cops are more likely to cut you some sort of break provided you do not hurt someone or you are not being a blatant moron. All bets are off in I-95 though. You go 85 and they'll nail you to the wall.

Only one cop has ever given me a break in VA. In my 5 years of having a VA license i've accumulated more then 20 different tickets. 06 I tried to repair my record and was doing good until I got nailed in March 07 for speeding 79/65, tints and radar detector while being on probation. :( After that I was through with VA. I switched my License to my new future home. (burnout)
