YEAH! I picked up the car from ken today and drove my baby home. Okay so heres the good and the bad, the bov is vta so its causing some slight idle issues, this is gonna be fixed as soon as soon as i can get my hands on JUST a cold pipe so we can move the maf to the pressure side. The widband is not installed because i dont have a part....um to put it in? haha the boost guage is momentarily hooked up. Pretty much i just need to put in new spark plugs, move the maf, get guage pod and put in wideband. Then the fun part, dyno tuning!

Yeah so im gonna go figure out which spark plugs i need, 6's or 7's get those and get a cold pipe or whole hardpipe kit if i must! Its boosting about 10 psi so im not going full throttle untill i get the right spark plugs in there and even then im gonna go easy on here cause shes running rich as it is now. But omg i love the turbo sound, i love the bov sound mine is a slight turkey which i kinda like actually ;) But if i think of anything else ill add it in later. Now i gotta go make my baby run right!

after some driving i finally realized that i smell gas when i start it and when i come to a stop....hmm running rich are we? I hope changing my spark plugs from the PZFR5F-11 to the PZFR7F-11's should help a little bit. Then tomorrow HOPEFULLY im gonna plug in a laptop and attempt to pull fuel on the s.s....attempt but i dont have a wideband o2 hooked up yet so who knows. Not quite at 10psi also...im not going at full throttle but accelerating and slowly adding more and more throttle it only goes up to about 8psi maybe spiking at 9 or just below 10.
 
Ditto !! Get that WB hooked up. Do alot of data logging before you let loose. I found many areas that I was running lean. Then dyno tune for power.
 
congrats man. now you and me are finally turbod. great news to hear. do you have any pics of the intecooler piping routing? it seems like protege garage used some good quality parts and did a good professional job with welding and placements.

Just got back from 2 autozones and a napa and a carquest and i have to say ZFR7F-11 plugs are as rare as a white rhino! So i got some stock msp plugs the zfr6f-11's for now and hopefully it runs a lil better than the stock p5 ones im using now which are a 5 heat range(nailbyt) and im gonna go put those in tonight.

As for tuning it myself i have two things to say. 1) i 100% believed that yesterday was friday, making today saturday....turns out i was wrong and today is actually thursday haha. And 2) im not gonna touch the damn thing "Mraz Automotive" is going to do some dyno tuning on the afc when i get the wideband put in. This shop builds and tunes race cars, like drag cars so im assuming they'll know how to tune my lil turbo'd 4 banger. They said they want 2-3 days with it so they can really get to learn the s.s afc and get a great tune so they sounded pretty good. Other than that...im in love with my car!
 
ok, plugs going in now actually. And again driving around today....i could not get it to hit 10psi i dont want it to so thats kinda nice. I have to take more pics of my hard pipes and see if the gurus here will think i have the space needed in my cold pipe to cut it and put the maf there so my car doesnt die at idle or when i push in the clutch to the bov vta. Cause i love the bov sound, and i dont want to pay uber cash for a whole hard pipe kit when all i need is the stinking cold pipe(check my wtb thread if you have one!!!)
 
hmmm dude you know you want to! HOWEVER, i would seriously consider buying NOT buying a kit. From my experience it will probably be about the same price if you buy your parts "ala carte" style and you'll end up getting what you want. I bought a kit, then sold about half of it and got the parts i wanted so....If i could, i would have boughten all my parts individually instead of a kit. Cause you change one part, magically another one then needs to be changed and etc, etc. Just my 2 cents ;)
 
But the HiBoost kit is schweet...not gonna piece together much better for the price....

Buy IT!!!!...Then sell it to ME!!!!!
 
well every part from the hiboost kit is pretty much a upgrade for the msp. if you can pick up a hiboost kit for cheap, by all means deff. get that. hell, buy a hiboost kit if you can find one, i do not think you can even get it anymore.
 
so a buddy of mine was driving behind me today...and he said that when i stomp the gas(or just accelarate) black smoke pours out of my exhaust. Hence i am running richer than hell...god i want to be tuned!
