Speed 6 Eating Up Gas!

Or just disconnect the positive then go instead and play some Gears of War or FORZA 2

come back out after about 10 minutes and hook it back up.... don't forget to reset your clock and do the window trick

(hold go to each door and hold the button down until the window goes all the way down, then hold the button up til the window goes all the way up and you feel/hear a click about a second after then let go.... has to be done at each door)

That should help reset your ECU and "learn" your mods.....

I swear i have the same issue. as far as it being 70 mpg im not sure. But i get about 220 Miles on a full tank its retarded. Im not sure how resetting the battery will do anything. Everytime i put gas in i put in $40. So are you saying that my ecu is causing my car to use more gas?

P.S. im also modded CAI, Magnaflow Exhaust

Also i would say im 75% highway driving

ease up on the right foot.......the faster you go on the highway the more gas you use up.

you'd have to go no faster than like 75 if you wanna see good mileage gains on the highway...... have you disconnected your battery since you installed your mods?

I drive like this....... first gear shift to 2nd just before 3k rpm.....shift to 3rd just before 3k rpm.......shift to 4th just before 3k rpm, etc.

and by the time I get in my "cruising speed" I put it in the next highest gear......

say I'm doing 50 mph, I'll put it in 6th......and if I'm doing 30 mph it'll probably be in 4th or 5th, whichever keeps the rpm under 2.5k

this is called granny driving...... if you're driving around and constantly shifting the car at 4k or higher rpm then you're driving around while in boost, so in theory you are using more gas than if you were driving around outside the boost range....

I use to get 220 per tank or so, but never more than 260 per tank.......til I changed my driving habits...... last tank I saw 353 miles with 25% city 65% highway driving......

Off topic but do u like the power gain, do u think it would be different as in worse or better or the same with a 3"single

60 highway 40 city.. with ac
although shes still bein broken in... id assume shell get better as she ages..

Gas Mileage is highly sensitive to how you drive it and it does improve with age as you are breaking it in.

We recently took the Speed to Las Vegas (530 miles or so each way) and got fantastic mileage with the trunk full of luggage and 3 adults in the car. The A/C was on the whole time and we saw 29 almost 30 MPG on the trip. Average speed 70-75mph.

Driving over 75 really drags down the mileage.

In my mixed everyday driving I see 24-25ish with a good amount of highway driving, but I still "drive" the car the way it is meant to be driven.

no 93 octane here in California, but I recently started mixing a few gallons of 100 octane with each 91 octane fill-up as an experiment and have seen better mileage, better performance (which has lead to me driving it harder :) ), and the hesitation that I was getting at times under hard acceleration is gone.

I just put a bottle of 108 Octane Booster in when I filled up today and I can already feel a pleasant difference. Why can't they just sell 93 octane here in AZ?

Good question.......why don't you find out? surely there are channels you can go through to find out why you can't get 93 octane, then perhaps start having people sign a petition.......and definitely make a beeline for the people with performance cars as they'd be willing to sign it for their car.......

These cars were made and tuned from factory on 93 octane....... hence the reflash, but I'm getting annoyed that people are saying dealers are doing the reflash even if you have 93 octane in your area, I've had no hesitation whatsoever......

Higher octane content slows down the combustion process, which can lead to incomplete combustion. States with very strict emissions standards are less likely to allow high-octane fuels.

Sadly very very little gains. But i love the sound. If your looking for power go with the Cp-e single pipe. I wish i would have gone with the single pipe looking back, but what can you do now.

I think im just gonna do single pipe custom, cp-e's is to much for a single pipe and no muffler.

I put them both on without disconecting the battery, i just think i should disconnect it so that i can reset/update the ECU

I put a cai on just about all my cars without disconnecting the battery. NOTHING HAPPENED.

Nothing BAD will happen, but it is still BETTER to reset your battery, the ECU will relearn the amount of air coming in, and thus add the appropiate amount of fuel. so no, you won't tell too much of a difference, but it is better to reset it.
