Speed 3 Must Do's....

Cosmic Blue Mazdaspeed 3
Just got back from the dealer. Mazdaspeed CAI installed, motor mount issue repaired. Amazing, amazing, amazing! The car feels like it should, smooth shifting with no lurch and awesome power and sound from the intake. If you own an MS3, you must do these things. I had an 04 SRT 4, until it was murdered by a 16 year old girl turning left in front of me, I was less than 2 car lengths from her at 35mph. Since I bought the MS3 as a replacement for my totaled Dodge, I have missed the Dodge. The MS3 felt choked and quick shifting was a hassle given the soft feel of the shifter and the lurch and lag feeling between shifts. Not anymore, the MS3 is an absolute beast. Dealer only charged $80 for the intake install. For those who have issues with the sound of the intake, it is nowhere near as loud as the K&N Typhoon CAI on my Dodge, but is is loud enough to make you smile and let anyone know you mean business. Best mod for the $$ on this car.:)

I've had my Cosmic Blue MS3 for a couple weeks now, already had the bolt recall done before I took delivery, and just put the Corksport inserts in the rear mount. After having competition rubber engine mounts in my other car, 92 Miata, I swore I would never drive another car without replacing the motor mounts.

First impression is a little bit of vibration is noticeable but nothing unlivable, definitely better throttle response and acceleration. I didn't notice any change in the shifting like some people have mentioned, but I believe most people on this board have the shifter bushings as well, which I am now considering getting along with the MS CAI.

The car does feel much better sense getting it back from the dealer. It shifts way better! Can't wait to change the rear motor mount..

I had the bolt replaced at the dealer and I didn't feel any difference. They didnt change the whole mount, just the bolt. The motor in my car is definatly moving a lot. I think a stiffer rear mount will in fact help tremendously just like everyone has said. I just am not sure if the way to go is a whole new mount or the inserts.

Did the Corksport inserts make the shifts less jerky? I don't mean the shifter itself just shifting in general, letting out clutch and not being so jerky.
