has anyone used this? if so which insert did you find to be best

the P/N is 9405

People have used it and found that the diameter of the MAF housing doesn't match the stock diameter and causing a code. If you search around, you should be able to find the thread.

i tried it and yes it throws the cel. but... i could not believe the amount of pull if had even comparing to the mazdaspeed or a modified stock maf housing. modified, meaning that i cut the maf off the box and attached a cpe filter to it.
