Special Edition MP5?

There is not a 'special' addition protege5. The badge in the image is from an old time vendor here on the forums who made the badge to look like the MP3 badge. That is it,, nothing special :(

Special edition P5? Not in the U.S.
As for other countries I don't know.
But those badges aren't hard to come by.
I bought 3 of them for $15 from Protege5online.com
They were made to look like the MP3 badges.
The one in the pic is in the wrong place. Mazda put them on the door just above the molding on the MP3. His are on the fender, which leads me to believe he bought his and put them there, too.

*edit: Dammit John, you beat me to it! *threadjack* hey, I'm gonna be driving the P5 back to Alaska this summer. Maybe you can arrange a meet in early August so I can see what a real Mazda meet is like. No offense to the Alaska folk, I'd just like to see more than 5 people show up for once.

he claims it was from dealer this way and they tried charging more.

I remember shortly after I bought my P5 I saw one at the dealer with all these rediculous bolt on body kits and 17" wheels and things like that. Just stuff the dealer did to a stock P5 to jack the price up. I think their asking price was like $22k. So, it could be a one-off dealer special edition.

aem intake and rb exhaust was also added.

(jacked) I live in Cali now! Are you gonna come through Cali!

Wes lives here as well now! we could meet somewhere, it would be like half the alaska crew meeting up, but in Cali, so there may be more women around :)

I have those, but mine is not special.

Also, looking at the photos again, it is a 2002, and there were no special addition mazdas produced that year.

I knew you were in Cali, that's why I mentioned a meet....I'm planning on driving the PCH from LA up to SF, (nice drive w/ lots of twisties near Big Sur) then I could hit you up in Sac.
I didn't know Wes was in Cali....I thought he was still in San Antonio. Maybe he'll want to go on a roadtrip...

Canada got some "Special Edition" P5's (identified by doorjamb sticker.) They came with leather, chrome wheels (not polished) a leather wrapped steering wheel, and were loaded up. (A/C, ABS, etc all standard.) To my understanding al lthe special editions were either silver or black. I think they had heated mirrors too, but don't quote me on that.

Sounds to me like they just stuck a sticker on a loaded 2002.5-2003 P5. I'm willing to bet the wheels you speak of were the polished ones...the 2002.5 wheels look just like chrome when they are clean. And I have yet to see heated mirrors on any Protege, so I'm calling BS on that until I see further proof.

Yeah its the badges from protege5online I have them too. Look closely at the pic and you can see the address in the background;)

And no heated mirrors though Maxx I wish they did.

The dealer tried calling my P5 a "special edition" because it had gold badges, it was just loaded and the dealer painted the badges gold. I told him there was no way I was paying more for the ugly gold badges I would have to replace anyway.

I think it's in the fuse panel under the dash. It says mir heat or something like that, and there isn't a fuse in that spot.

I'll have to look durring lunch.
