Spare Key for Advanced Keyless Entry?

Anyone been able to copy the key that's in the fob of the Advanced Keyless Entry?

My husband hates this feature and I'd love to just give him a spare key to use. He's a little slow with accepting the technology (silly)

Plus, just a regular spare key would be nice for valet parking - since when you pull the one out of the fob, there's no way to put on a keychain...

Seems there should be a way to get a copy, since you really don't need the advanced keyless fob to use the car.

One way is to go to the dealer and have the metal key inside your Advanced Key copied. It's expensive because the key is "chipped", which means it has a transponder in it that must be programmed. I paid ~$70 for the key, but somehow convinced the dealer to program it for free (the car was still quite new). I've seen "chipped" keys on eBay for ~$12, but you'll still need a trip to a locksmith for programming.
