the center bore on proteges is 67.1 (i asked that question earlier this morning on the forum) so the spacers would be the ones with the 5x114.3 bolt pattern and the 67.1 center bore....

thats my guess...

Not all Proteges have a 67.1 mm centerbore. the DX and LX sedans have a 54.1 mm centerbore. My 02 DX has a 54.1 mm center bore. I know the P5 has a 67.1 mm bore but I'm not sure about the 3rd gen ES with 16" wheels, the MP3 or the MSD. You'd better check before you buy.

very true... i was under the impression we were talking about P5s since he had one in his avatar... hheehe..

better check just to be safe

You really are better off getting a new wheel.

Spacers and longer lugs work, but a wheel with the proper offset works much better.

Thats not the point. The point for me is they dont make a whole lot of +48 offset 18" rims that I like. But they do have a few that are +45 offest that I really want. So if I can find that 5mm spacer combo I'll be all set.

If you put a 5mm spacer on a +45 offset wheel, you will make it +40??? That will rub. My 19s are +45 and I do not rub at all on the back, and only when I drive it hard sometimes the front. I think you may have it backwards?? Hope this helps.

Putting spacers on decreases the offset. You'd have to machine the wheel to increase it.

Think of it this way. When you move the wheel towards the car the number goes up. When you move it away, it goes down.

Hey thanks! wow just stumbled upon this thread and see my name popin up!! cool :)

I'm interested in looking further into replacing the wheel studs. Did you have to remove the brakes and rotor to push out the studs? Where could I get a hold of the sport compact magazine that has this how to?
