WHEN I PURCHASED THE MP3 I KNEW IT'S STRAIGHT LINE SPEED WAS SLOW SO WHAT I LIKE TO IMPROVE THINGS. ANYHOW WHO LIKES TO RUN IN STRAIGHT LINES NOT ME AFTER ALL THATS WHY I BOUGHT THE DAMN CAR IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!

ALTHOUGH I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THE "SPACE" BETWEEN
ME AND THE SATURN THAT SPANKED MY A S S DISAPPEAR IN FACT I WOULD LIKE TO PUT SOME SPACE ON THEM!!!!!

Maybe you guys are doing somthing wrong, or that synthedic oil adds like 50 hp cause I have driven a lot of cars and my mp3 feels very strong for a n/a I4 sedan. I don't think of it as fast, but I deffantly don't think of it as slow. I love how much tourque it has and in the twistes it is very capable. Its really a drivers car, I don't consider going up through the gears perticularly fun, exciting, or challenging, but takeing corners at 70 with out even thinking twice is pricless, and if you want to pick up chicks you can just tell 'em its a wrx

you guys need to do more research, cuz there is a ton of stuff out there that will make your mp3 fast. I am sick of people ripping on our cars cuz they aren't fast, i mean i understand that my car isn't the fastest out there, but i can still rip my friends honda apart, and he has a vtec. And for those who are losing to jimmie's and all this other bs, learn how to drive your damn car, cuz there is no way in hell you should lose to them. You are making our cars look bad by losing to them. Anyway, i just want to let you all know that there is more out there for our cars than what you claim, just do the research, i am spending 7000 alone on the engine of my car and by the end i will be able to smoke mustangs....hehe

I think u might be suprised if u line up against a Jimmy. I raced the guy twice and i am not saying am a perfct driver like a race car driver but i believe in myself enough to say i am a good driver. And he beat me to about 40 both times at which the mp3 would pull hard by him and he would let of so it wouldn't look like i was going to beat him to 60. Point is in the first place no damn suv with a v6 nor a damn lil saturn beater should beat us. And lemme ask a question to u,MP3Boy1984, u have high compression pistons and also a turbo in which u have for ur future mods cuz u wont be beating anything for a very long time cuz ur engine is going to blow but if u are doing more of an n/a application first then switch ok? But tell me in any case.

HEY I AM NOT CUTTING MY CAR THE SATURN I RACED RAN A 9.17 IN A 1/8 AT THE STRIP IT IS BUILT . IN FACT I HAD SOME BIG BODIES IN MY CAR AND THE GUY IN THE SATURN WAS ALONE. I PULLED HIM FROME THE LINE BUT 2ND GEAR SUCKS. HE WON BY MABEY A CAR. ALL I HAVE IS A CAI . AS SOON AS THE FUNDS COME IN I PLAN TO MAKE MY CAR BAD ASS.

yello-mp3, why would my engine blow, i have seen many honda's which have put new piston springs in and all this other jazz to give them a super high compression, yet they still run a turbo also, so what makes our engines any less capable than there's? Also, when i do this, i am no longer going to race my car that much, it is going to be a show car,

lol... you just answered your own question in the same sentence that you asked the question.... BECAUSE THEY ARE HONDA ENGINES.... think about this... there is more of a reason that old model civics/accords/integras etc etc are still around... other than the fact that they are "more popular"... its because the engines last for f*cking ever... thats why you see as many honda/acura from say 87-94 as you do all other makes/models from 87-94 put together...

and as for going show... I completely understand incorporating engine mods for show... but I GUARANTEE the money that your gonna put into those pistons/cams/blah blah blah, could be put into alot better show mods... its just pointless to put in pistons just for show points when you can get just as many if not more show points w/ some other mod.. like some new audio equipment.. or some exterior styling... interior stuff...

I hope im explaining this right... if your only gonna go for show once you do your engine mods.. whats the point?? why not just put bolt ons and dress everything up all nice... then go for styling.. show judges dont care how fast you can go when your car is just sitting there on a floor not doing anything 'cept lookin pretty.. thats the key... lookin pretty..

so unless you were talkin out of your ass when you said that you wanted to show the car and not race it after you make it "fast" with engine mods... and you actually DO paln on racing it... then dont go for all the engine mods...

The relaity:

Fast = 0-60 5 seconds
Quick 0-60 6 seconds
average 0-60 7 seconds
SLOW 0-60 8 seconds or higher.

Even with intake, exhuast, and header no Protege is breking 7 with cams maybe close. Without turbo or high compresion no way.

Oh, and I hate to support raving psychopaths, but putting high comp pistons and turbo on a mazda I4 is an exceptionally bad idea. Thin block walls combined with our gaskets and rods is asking for a blowout, or at the least some turbo fouling.
If you run must run high comp pistons and turbo, keep the boost under 5psi. And conversely, if you are running above 5psi, keep compression no higher than 9.5/1 (our stock is 9.1 or 9.0 / 1). Most high comps for our car that I've seen are 10/1.
Above 8 psi, do not use high comp pistons at all, it is a guaranteed blowout.

you guys all bring up good points, and thanks for explaining it, i think i will either go for forged pistons or more show mods, and i protege01mp3 no offence takin, and of course i do not plan to just show my car, every once in a while i will probably gget the urge to race, everybody does, so i guess it would be best if i just either stay away from new pistons all together or go with forged ones, anywho thanks a lot for setting me straight

I PULLED HIM FROME THE LINE BUT 2ND GEAR SUCKS.

Good thing nobody let me know 2nd gear sucks earlier, or I would have never been able to win all those autoXs. I use ONLY second gear. This car kicks ass in second. I'm pretty sure that's not the problem.
